You shouldn't compare your children, but looking back at both of my babies’ CMPA journeys, it’s amazing how the same allergy can look so completely different in two siblings.

The second time around has been just as confusing, even with the experience of going through it before. Different symptoms meant second-guessing ourselves all over again, but this time we’ve been incredibly lucky to have a GP who listened, took our concerns seriously, and helped us piece things together much sooner.

Every baby is different, and no two CMPA journeys are the same. If you’re in the thick of it right now, trust your instincts, you know your baby best.

Being a second-time mum, I thought I’d recognise the signs... but this journey has completely thrown me.

My first had CMPA, along with allergies to egg, soya, peppers, strawberries, tomatoes & lupin, so when baby number two started showing symptoms, I thought I knew what to expect. But this time everything is different. The GP suspects CMPA again, yet the prescribed milk hasn’t made much of a difference, leaving me feeling more confused than ever.
It’s so hard not knowing if it’s the same allergy or something completely different. Motherhood really keeps you guessing. 😔
Has anyone else had one child with CMPA and another with completely different symptoms? I’d love to hear your experiences. 🤍
