Bad Man don’t wear curls!

The first two shots set back ah yard, the man dem playing a round of dominoes. not a quiet bored game for the week hearted. So if you don’t like noise this isn’t for you. Dominoes is a highly intense, entertaining and emotional game, serving as a social glue in the community from when the came over. Bringing neighbours together, weather it was the Road corner, the corner bar, backyards, or “dead yards”
The games combining intense strategy, nuff banter, bad words, storytelling, deep camaraderie, jokes and laughter.
The Jamaican obsession with the game runs deep. Matches are vibrant, and loud. Fiercely competitive. The players pride themselves on memory, deduction ( reading the game to know what the opponents hold), and then standing up and delivering the dramatic, thunderous slams which we as kids could hear upstairs in our bedroom, This would be accompanied with reggae music, yard food and live debates.
It’s a time, space to unwind from a days, or weeks work. To discuss political events, and share life’s lessons.
So if you’re brave enough, and want to have a game, just listen out for the noise of Reggae music, nuff debating and swearing.
