So many parents tell us they thought brushing was a battle they just had to push through.

But for a lot of children, refusal is actually about how brushing feels, the taste, the foam, the smell or not knowing what to expect next. When those sensations feel overwhelming, saying “no” is often the only way they can communicate it.

That’s exactly why we created Buddies.

A mum’s solution...

When Sian Ellingworth’s young son refused to clean his teeth, she decided to develop a toothpaste suitable for children who disliked the strong flavours of conventional toothpastes.

Sian says, “My Mission is Oral Health for All - No Exceptions!"

Subsequent developments include two very palatable flavours and an electric toothbrush, soon to be available to buy on line. The products are also suitable for adults who find toothbrushing a challenge, including people with physical disabilities, manual dexterity problems or other health issues.

Sian successfully exited BBC2's Dragons'​ Den in January 2019 with a £60k joint investment from Tej Lalvani and Touker Suleyman.
