Where the love of fabric and creating all began. . . Happy 20th Birthday to ! Come celebrate their journey this weekend at the Auckland Town Hall, Concert Chamber

Over the years we worked with SO many fabrics! Chiffons, georgettes, satins, sequins, mistakenly the itchiest of beading that the dancers would never let us forget, silks, velvets, you name it. I learnt so much about draping, colours, textures, fabric sourcing, working with tailors, working with dancers, alterations, cutting and sewing. Most importantly, I learnt about just doing ✨

Thank you to my clients, and those who believe in me and remind me to keep going. I wish you all a lovely summer break; a time to be around loved ones and some time to recharge. I’ll be ready for a come back in 2024 💚

When I found out that ‘The Offbeat Sari’ exhibition was on in London while I’d be there, I had to go. (Thanks for sharing this). It was so incredible seeing our culture represented at this level. This was at the which was definitely a highlight of the trip. Such a well thought out place, where you’re happy to spend time at. I’d go back to see new exhibitions if I’m ever out that way again!

A family wedding calls for giving new things a go ✨

Vishaal and Akash (finally) in their very own custom made outfits. Starting with a design, selecting fabrics and colours to dye the fabrics too, and made to measure. Akash in a more traditional kurta, vest and dhoti pants (with matching shoes!) and Vishaal in a more indo western style with an open sherwani and trousers.

Something for me…one that took me a long long time to design 😅 Gota work on the skirt, bandhani print on the dupatta, and sequins on the blouse. A perfect combination for a sangeet outfit ✨

My client had a half half sari, which she no longer wore. So I cut it up and split it into a net skirt and georgette dupatta- paired it with a blouse she already had, and created a new look! Simple enough, and now this fabric gets a whole new life ✨
