Here are a couple of our Elizabethan gowns available for hire from our wardrobe. Both are roughy a size 8 or 10, depending on how tightly you are used to being laced in. Both black velvet. One with linen and black work sleeves, and a separate black work partlet and black damask forepart; the other with hanging sleeves and contrasting tawny red and gold damask sleeves to match the forepart.

Victoria & Albert costumes for a promotional shoot yesterday. If you need costumes for photo shoots, promos, ads or short films we can cover a wide range of periods but only in limited quantities, hence we were ideal for this shoot.

Costume has always been a big part of Lions part festivals and plays. In this short film, Callum Coates attempts to recreate sort of clothes a London street vendor wore in Shakespeare’s time, based on old woodcuts that belonged to Samuel Pepys.

This weekend marks the end of the 500th anniversary of a diplomatic meeting between the Kings of England and France. A huge festival, the likes of which the Lions part could never attempt, was mounted and became know as The Field of the Cloth of Gold. Our friends at The Tudor Tailor have asked people to recreate some of the extraordinary painting of the event. So, we are having a go too with some of our stock costumes but I did have to make a tudor rose.

The Barn Theatre in Welwyn Garden City are currently presenting a great production of Lilies on The Land and the Lions part Costume Hire have provided some of the Land Army uniforms. We have a limited number of dungarees, milking coats, breeches, jumpers, arm bands and hats available for hire. If you need a WLA uniform, drop us a line.
