🌿 When you’re asked to rewild a university campus but end up geeking out over biomimicry, timelines, and the magic of meadows 🌿
This animated GIF is a sneak peek into my "Ghosts of a Meadow" project—a rewilding proposal for the University of Derby. It’s been a wild ride (pun intended) blending research, design, and a whole lot of enthusiasm for biodiversity.
Here’s the tea:
1️⃣ Inspiration: I dove deep into biomimicry, drawing inspiration from natural forms and patterns to create something that feels alive. Think swirling seed pods, fractal-like growth, and the chaotic beauty of untamed nature.
2️⃣ Research: I spent hours learning about rewilding processes—what it takes to turn a manicured lawn into a thriving meadow. The result? A five-year timeline showing the transformation from grass to wildflowers, complete with buzzing bees and fluttering butterflies.
3️⃣ Design: With a hand-drawn aesthetic and a palette of greens, golds, and yellows, I created something that’s not just eye-catching but also deeply rooted in science and storytelling.
If you’re into thoughtful, research-driven design that tells a story, let’s chat! I’m always up for collaborating on projects that make the world a little greener—or just a little more interesting.
