💙 Stay safe in the water this Summer 💙
Whether you’re swimming in the pool, heading to open water, or enjoying time by the water with family, safety always comes first.
We’re sharing this important reminder from Swim England about staying safe, understanding the risks and following the Water Safety Code.
As the warm weather continues this summer, if you're heading to open water to cool down, remember that swimming at managed sites is always recommended, where lifeguards, safety measures and facilities are available.
It's also important to talk to children and young people about water safety before they head out, so they understand the risks and know what to do in an emergency.
If you're entering the water, follow the Water Safety Code:
💙 Stop and Think – Take time to assess the risks before entering the water.
💙 Stay Together – Never enter the water alone.
💙 Float – If you get into difficulty, float on your back and control your breathing.
💙 Call 999 – In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard if you're at the coast.
Stay safe, look after each other, and enjoy the water responsibly. 🌊☀️
