🍂 There’s something I really like about September - not only because it's my birthday month! The summer holidays are winding down, routines are returning and, after the lovely chaos of summer, it feels like a good time to make a fresh start.

So here’s my little September challenge for you:

✂️Just sew one thing ✂️

It doesn’t have to be a big project.
It doesn’t have to be complicated.
And it definitely doesn’t have to be perfect.

Maybe there’s a bag you’ve been meaning to make for months.

A half-finished project waiting in a basket.

Or a piece of fabric in your stash that’s been waiting patiently for the *right* project. 😉

Just choose something, make yourself a little time and enjoy sitting at your sewing machine.

And if you need a little inspiration, I do have a handful of one-off sewing kits in the shop, with everything you need to get started without having to hunt down all the supplies.

But really, it doesn't matter what you sew. Just make the decision and sew the thing!🧵✂️

🧵Interesting fact: back in 1982, President Ronald Reagan officially proclaimed September as "National Sewing Month" to recognise the importance of home sewing in the US. Whether you're in America or not, I think we have the perfect excuse right there to spend a little more time at the sewing machine.😉

And if you ask me, there are few things more satisfying to sew than a bag. With a little fabric, a simple pattern, a bit of hardware and interfacing too, you can create something that you can actually use, carry and show off without worrying whether it will fit! 👛

🎉Friday Freebie - the other day in my bag chat, I promised I would show you how I make a no-sew faux leather bag tassel.
