🌸 LEAGUE HQ UPDATE 🌸

A rather beautiful floral takeover has happened at League HQ💐

We're delighted to welcome Charlie from Rose & Ben Flowers as our newest Visiting Maker for the next three months.

From time to time, we invite talented makers to join us for a season, giving everyone the chance to discover something a little different alongside our permanent League members... and Charlie has definitely arrived in style!

League HQ has become even more colourful and somehow the flowers and Stacey's Cow Cows cushions seem to be getting along just fine. 🐮🌸😂 We'll explain more later! 🤣

Charlie's gorgeous dried flower bouquets and arrangements have completely transformed one corner of the shop and, with inspections by League members, we're pleased to report they're all absolutely beautiful!

We've already spent far too long admiring them and there have been more than a few discussions over which bouquet we'd be taking home if we weren't trying to behave ourselves. (No decisions have been reached... although several favourites have mysteriously emerged. 👀)

The best part? These beauties don't need watering, won't drop petals all over the place and will keep looking gorgeous long after fresh flowers have called it a day. They're perfect for birthdays, new homes, thank you gifts... or simply because you deserve flowers that won't judge you for forgetting to change the water. 😄

Charlie will be with us until the end of October, so if you're popping into Ludlow over the summer, make sure you stop in and have a browse and she's even given us some sneaky info about her seasonal halloween ideas! 🧹

💙 We've got the blues 💙 Don't worry, it's not that kind of blues!

We were putting together a few photos and suddenly realised that blue seems to have taken over Made at No.16! 😆 Blue dungarees, blue cushions, blue lampshades, blue glass, blue jewellery... and that's just for starters.

Whether it reminds you of sunny skies, seaside adventures or simply your favourite colour, there's something rather lovely about seeing all these handmade creations together.

✨ Could you be our next guest maker? ✨

We absolutely love finding talented local makers... especially the ones who make us all stand there saying, "How on earth did you do that?!" 😄

If you create beautiful, high-quality handmade products and think they'd be right at home at Made at No.16, we'd love to hear from you.

As a carefully curated handmade collective, we're always looking for work that complements what we already have, helping us keep the shop full of unique handmade treasures. Every application is considered individually, so although we can't offer a space to everyone, every application is given the time and consideration it deserves.

Been one of our guest makers before? We'd love to hear from you again too!

We're also on the lookout for future permanent makers. Every permanent maker started their journey with us as a guest maker. It's a chance for us to get to know each other, so while a permanent space can never be guaranteed, it can often be the start of something longer term.

All we ask is that your work is genuinely handmade, you're based locally and you have your own Public Liability Insurance.

One final thing...and this is your official warning... 😄

If you're successful, don't be surprised if you find the rest of us wandering over to admire your work, picking it up, turning it over to work out how you've made it and asking far too many questions before shamelessly showing it to every customer who walks through the door and telling them how brilliant it is! ❤️

It's one of our favourite things about being part of Made at No.16.

Today's emergency mission...

🛵 Stacey's Nan's mobility scooter decided it had done enough for one day and came to a complete stop outside the shop.

🦸 Thankfully Sue was on duty and answered the Handmade Beacon.

Scooter rescued.
Nan rescued.
Tea probably consumed.
No nail appointments missed!

Another successful day at League HQ and a perfectly normal day in the life at Made at No16.

👜 The Bag's been handed over...

This week it's Nicky's turn!

Now this should have been easy.

It wasn't.

Mainly because she's spent the last two years surrounded by beautiful handmade things and has somehow managed to "accidentally" take quite a few of them home. 🤫

(Please don't tell her husband, we're all in this together!) Matt - if you're reading this, she can explain. 😂

So, after much deliberation (and changing her mind several times), today's picks are...

🧼 A handmade soap from Wrekin Soap – the Lemon Grasshopper scent is an absolute favourite.

✨ A silver bracelet from Tiffany Lee Jewellery – because there's still time to treat herself before Tiffany finishes with us at the end of the month.

🐰 One of A&I Creations' gorgeous bunnies – because you're never too old to fall in love with a bunny.

🕯️ A colourful glass tealight from Ally Glass Studio – because every room deserves a little sparkle.

Ask her again tomorrow though and there'll probably be four completely different things. 😆

🚨 League Announcement 🚨

Even the League of Extraordinary Makers needs a little time to recharge their superpowers 🦸✨

So from next week going forward, Made at No.16 will be closed on Tuesdays.
Why?
Because our superheroes need time to do important superhero things like:

🧵 Creating beautiful new products.
☕ Drinking heroic amounts of tea.
🎨 Dreaming up new ideas.
🛍️ Restocking the shelves.
💪 Recharging those creative superpowers.

Don't worry though, it's not a day off! 😄

Behind the scenes we'll still be sewing, glazing, pouring, sketching, cutting, sanding, packing, painting, designing, answering emails and generally getting ready to fill the shop with even more lovely handmade things.

We'll be back on Wednesdays, fully powered and ready to welcome you for another week of handmade adventures.

🚨 League Member Returning 🚨

The Handmade Beacon has done its job and one of our League of Extraordinary Makers has returned from her latest mission! "Two wheels on a Tiger to Tuscany!" 😄

Sue is back in the shop today after her Italian adventure 🏍️ , and while she was away she couldn't resist filling her sketchbook with inspiration along the way. Here's some pics from Chamonix to Rapello to Tuscany, 8 countries and 2,650 miles...we're not jealous...much, although the 41 degree heat would have been a smidge too warm for us!

Now comes the exciting bit... seeing which of those sketches grow into beautiful new pieces of artwork. 🎨✨

If you're passing today, pop in and give Sue a warm welcome back (although be warned, you might be green with envy hearing a travel story or two ! 😉).
