We absolutely love finding talented local makers... especially the ones who make us all stand there saying, "How on earth did you do that?!" 😄

If you create beautiful, high-quality handmade products and think they'd be right at home at Made at No.16, we'd love to hear from you.

As a carefully curated handmade collective, we're always looking for work that complements what we already have, helping us keep the shop full of unique handmade treasures. Every application is considered individually, so although we can't offer a space to everyone, every application is given the time and consideration it deserves.

Been one of our guest makers before? We'd love to hear from you again too!

We're also on the lookout for future permanent makers. Every permanent maker started their journey with us as a guest maker. It's a chance for us to get to know each other, so while a permanent space can never be guaranteed, it can often be the start of something longer term.

All we ask is that your work is genuinely handmade, you're based locally and you have your own Public Liability Insurance.

One final thing...and this is your official warning... 😄

If you're successful, don't be surprised if you find the rest of us wandering over to admire your work, picking it up, turning it over to work out how you've made it and asking far too many questions before shamelessly showing it to every customer who walks through the door and telling them how brilliant it is! ❤️

It's one of our favourite things about being part of Made at No.16.

Today's emergency mission...

🛵 Stacey's Nan's mobility scooter decided it had done enough for one day and came to a complete stop outside the shop.

🦸 Thankfully Sue was on duty and answered the Handmade Beacon.

Scooter rescued.
Nan rescued.
Tea probably consumed.
No nail appointments missed!

Another successful day at League HQ and a perfectly normal day in the life at Made at No16.

Simply write on them, pop them in your pot, wipe them clean when you're ready for the next plant and use them all over again.

No more mystery seedlings.

We could almost convince ourselves we will have a day off....doubtful though! 🤔😜

🚨 League Announcement 🚨

Even the League of Extraordinary Makers needs a little time to recharge their superpowers 🦸✨

So from next week going forward, Made at No.16 will be closed on Tuesdays.
Why?
Because our superheroes need time to do important superhero things like:

🧵 Creating beautiful new products.
☕ Drinking heroic amounts of tea.
🎨 Dreaming up new ideas.
🛍️ Restocking the shelves.
💪 Recharging those creative superpowers.

Don't worry though, it's not a day off! 😄

Behind the scenes we'll still be sewing, glazing, pouring, sketching, cutting, sanding, packing, painting, designing, answering emails and generally getting ready to fill the shop with even more lovely handmade things.

We'll be back on Wednesdays, fully powered and ready to welcome you for another week of handmade adventures.

P.S. If the Handmade Beacon flashes on a Tuesday we'll probably still answer the emails at [email protected]. 😉📧

🗺️ One little shop, a whole county of creativity.

People often ask where our makers are based. The answer? Right here in beautiful Shropshire. ❤️

From Ludlow to Shrewsbury, Leintwardine to Haytons Bent, every handmade piece in our shop has been lovingly created by someone local before finding its way to Made at No.16.

We like to think of them as our own League of Extraordinary Makers unfortunately minus the secret headquarters, superhero capes and dramatic music as they arrive in the shop (unless you're Garry!)😄

Just an incredibly talented group of local people who create beautiful things with skill, imagination and a lot of cups of tea. ☕

Whether it's homewares, pottery, glass, artwork, lampshades, children's clothing, candles, soaps or jewellery, every purchase supports a real person doing what they love, right here in our wonderful county.

We feel incredibly lucky to have them all under one roof and we think you will too. ❤️

And if you happen to see one of us dashing through Shropshire dressed head to toe in Lycra...don't panic, The Handmade Beacon has been lit! Someone needs us..or just more biscuits! 🦸🧵✨ 🍪
