If you’re considering a non traditional wedding gown, it surely cannot get any more convincing than this!
It’s difficult to not gush over these gorgeous photos so instead I will simply say what my part was. In addition to some fitting alterations, which were fairly minimal actually, I was asked to bustle the train for their first dance and to withstand the rigors of a ceilidh!

It’s been a long time since I’ve shared any photos - I’ve been beavering away on so many gorgeous gowns that social media has, I’m afraid, taken a backseat. However like a London bus, you wait ages then 2 come along at once! The venues couldn’t be more different, a world apart (quite literally) but both are full of the stuff dreams are made of. I love it when I receive wedding photos from the brides that I work with. Whilst I may know their dress quite literally inside and out, there’s really nothing like seeing the complete vision on their special day.

Thank you Lauren for sending me a few wedding shots, you looked absolutely beautiful! I chose these two because I do like black and white photography and I had to include this colour image too which, not only highlights the lace on Lauren’s dress but also shows the Salusalu. The lovely shoulder piece is used in Fijian culture for celebrations and this one features the groom’s surname - I love this ❤️!

Wedding dress dilemma - the train

The decision to remove the train from your wedding gown, is not one to be entered into lightly. Not only is the train a main feature of the dress, and a significant amount of the wow factor, it is a decision that cannot of course, be reversed, so when this request pops up, I am naturally cautious. However, and there is often a ‘however’, here is a perfect case for going for it! From the initial fitting, Cordelia was certain that the train was not for her and this was the result! Shortening each layer of the beautiful tulle handkerchief skirt to maintain the overall balance of the dress was worth every minute. Not only did we maintain the wow factor, if anything I think we added some extra as the skirt appeared even fuller. After the required bodice fitting alterations, this gorgeous Lilian West gown was the perfect choice in every way.
Cordelia it was a pleasure to work on your dress, thank you for sharing these images, you looked so beautiful. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness ❤️

This weekend was a break away from the sewing room to catch up in the garden and spend some time in the kitchen. The veg plot is now mostly weeded and crop defences installed in the form of marigolds/netting. Tomatoes, pumpkins, more peas, new climbing roses planted and we picked our first cucumber. Plus bread/rolls baked for this week’s lunches, tender stem rhubarb crumble, lemon drizzle cake, and lamb rogan josh (credit to The Authentic PunjaBee, the best lamb rogan josh recipe). All ready for an early start tomorrow on some beautiful wedding gowns 😍

Morning everyone! I’m very conscious that I haven’t posted for a while, and this lovely photo has been waiting in the wings for a justifiable appearance.
It’s always lovely to see images from the day and receive lovely comments like this:

“Thank you so much for you work on my dress. It was the perfect length x”

Claire’s beautiful dress had lace trailing down to the hem, which we were able to adjust even though the dress needed shortening. Such a beautiful photo.

When we are looking to capture all that a wedding should be, I think this shot does it perfectly!
Rachael came to me with this stunning gown and a vision. In addition to fitting and length alterations, we turned this strapless gown into a soft ‘V’ neckline continuing the lace appliqués up to the shoulders and into shoestring straps at the back.

Hello people! On this drizzly Monday afternoon I am finally taking a breather to sort out some outstanding paperwork and other jobs that have had to take a back seat for a while. Firstly can I please thank all my brides that have been contacting me for their patience. It’s been a hectic summer culminating in such a wonderful day for us last Saturday when my daughter was able to say “I do”. Here’s a sneaky peak ahead of the official photos 😊
