We’ve had a right week. I’ve been away working with in Scotland and the boss has been holding the fort as she always does. However Stanley decided now was the time to have an ulcerated cornea and for it to burst, causing not only agony for him, but the very real danger of losing his sight and his eye. Emergency eye surgery, more than a few quid and now round the clock care are order of the day. Poor bu**er is on nearly as much medication as me. But he’s a real trooper and is healing well thankfully.

This means another disjointed week at the shop as he can’t be left alone in case he gets his cone of shame off and scratches his eye, he’s also not allowed out to play for a bit either.

Anyway I had a great sort out in the shop at Picturedrome Macclesfield yesterday and on Tuesday it’s Altrincham Market turn for a revamp and re stock.

Thank you to everyone who has been in the shop and online spending their very hard earned money. I know it’s said a lot but we do actually do a little dance everytime we make a sale ❤️🕺🕺❤️

Picked up this stunnjng French Letter tray recently. In a lovely highly useable condition and a beautiful patina.

As some may have noticed I’m increasing the quantity and quality of vintage goods and clothing across both stores. This is a phased roll out but part of my long term goal to build a great all round Outfitters experience to my little corner of Cheshire

I’ve teamed up with the spoon and cutlery carving phenomena Nick Rowe Woodcraft again and he hasn’t disappointed at all.

Baked Cherry cutlery sets with a Nubuck leather sleeve. These sets are beautifully handcarved and finished by a true master of his craft. I’ve had a set for several years and it’s in daily use in the workshop and in the woods too.

These make for a great gift for the adventurer that’s got almost everything

Boots made for walking… I’ve always kept a small curated selection of Military Surplus at the shop. I’ve no idea why really. I constantly want to get rid of it, however you people still like buying it and I guess that’s because there isn’t anywhere else locally that has any.

So for now it remains… all sensibly priced and a curated mix of smocks, shirts and trousers. All in good condition.

I’ve long been a fan of American Workwear, the heavy canvas and denim has always appealed. I think the way it ages, discolours and patinas over time just lends some kind of tactility.

I thought it was about time to raise my workwear game. Sure I could go and buy new, but there is plenty of cooler stuff already in existence isn’t there. So I picked from my own rails, had some name badges made by Patches UK and the lovely folks Emblazed Print and Embroidery did my embroidery.

Nailed it I’d say! What do you think?

I’ve had to take some more time off, I’ve had a virus for several weeks and it hasn’t been much fun. I tend to keep them for far longer than I’d like too. Last year I had a stomach virus for 4 months and the year before that I had pneumonia for a month and didn’t realise it was that serious.

Anyway enforced rest is order of the weekend. I’ll be nipping in and out today and tomorrow but I’m feeling quite run down if I’m honest.

Pop in and say hey and that will certainly make it feel worth it.

Welcome to all the people that have joined on my journey over the years on here and with Modern Woolfare.

Some of you know my journey to today and some of you don’t, so here is an extremely brief synopsis of how we’re at where we’re at.

There is a few omissions from this post and that is my beautiful wife , without her I would not be on this mortal coil and whom I can never repay for ensuring I’m alive still, except with love and gratitude.
