I’ve been very quite on this account for a while and the reason been is the amount of change I have experienced in the last few years.

Moving from the town I found myself in. Leaving and loosing chosen family. Leaving a job I held for 12 years. Mental health and my journey through therapy. The effects of COVID-19 which I am, as are many others, still feeling. Wondering what the point to all this is. Swallowing some hard pills and also tossing a lot of pills in the bin.

I am working on projects for myself and putting the energy I have at the moment into creating for my alter ego

The Madame is a part of me that brings me joy but also courage, and strength to draw boundaries. Learning as Chris to harness the same energy that oozes out of The Madame and Julian Garner

Chris is behind all of these egos, or should I say masks I take off the wall. It isn’t as easy as it looks to just wear myself, in full, unapologetic acceptance. However, it’s coming.

I work really well under pressure and created this look, apart from the pink tulle skirt, white boots and gloves, after been inspired by a Christmas statue that stood on the stage in a venue during a competition I was taking part in. I won! My second achievement in drag because my first one was holding a residency for 12 years in a singular venue, and trust me…it’s not as easy as it looks.

The look was made in less than a week between work and other commitments before the semi finals of the competition. I did it.

In times of pressure I always remind myself of when I was learning millinery from the wonderful at LCF. I wanted to cram in as many hats into this intensive course & remembering the amount of hats I made and finished, having just started in the wonderful art of millinery. Remembering this reminds me, if I could do it then, I can easily do it now!

This journey is an odd one and the guilt, shame, unrealistic expectations, we put on ourselves is so unnecessary and the only person we are competing against is ourselves. F n ck that!

Anyway, to creating. To working with wonderful people like .canitakeyourpicture ! TO ART!

Really pleased with this shoot I did with the wonderful .canitakeyourpicture 🙏🏼🙏🏾🙏🏿

This look was inspired by a Queen Bee and the responsibility she has on her little shoulders creating colonies that help us survive on Mother Earth.

It’s also a metaphor for me spreading my wings and leaving my comfort zone, a hive, into a wild garden.

This shoot changed location last minute and we were so lucky that the restaurant let us shoot inside. Thank you JB’s American Diner for being so generous and kind. I highly recommend the Candy Floss Milkshake. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I saw the front of the car hanging on the wall through the window and thought what a contradiction this would be in a picture. The delicacy of nature and the brutality of man’s effect on the planet.

Antony Edwards caught the vision so well! Thank you so so much for just being a wonderful creative to work with. Here’s to the next shoot!

Many moons ago I created this piece called “Wild Garden.” It took forever to make but everything you see, apart from the lichen, is handmade. We as humans live in the animal kingdom alongside the plant kingdom and amongst us, a third Kingdom that is called Fungi. They are neither plant nor animal. To say they fascinate me is an understatement.🍄
I have wanted to shoot this piece for so long and finally have with the help of Ant. I built the set and roped in the talented .canitakeyourpicture and this is the result. I ♥️ bringing my art to life.✌🏻✌🏽✌🏿

So you may have noticed for a while I have been very quiet on here.

I’ve been processing a lot and working through some hurdles. Peeling the onion.

I’m not creatively stumped. I have loads of ideas. But! What is the point of something that just adds to the problem we are facing as an Earth?

Stripping back and slowing right down. Taking the unnecessary pressures off and stopping the greed.

I’ve been in the studio today working on commissions and a piece I am donating to be auctioned off. It’s called “Confetti” and was going to be the name of a collection I was going to produce.

Using my hands has made me realise the importance of doing this for my mental health and well being. I love my abilities and I hope you love your own.

Just thought I would pop on here and if you feel the same, letting you know, you’re not alone.
