when my students can’t get enough of their weekly sewing workshops and want to continue independantly at home, with their own new machine!

They come for a little tuto’ and dig in the fabric stash and forget about everything! They are focussed, creative and very happy!

And witnessing it fills my heart with joy and contentment! 👌🥰

***NEW*** weekly Sewing workshops, starting in September! (from 8 to 18)

- Groups take 6 participants max.
- Workshops are after school, 4.30 to 5.30pm.
- Projects vary from garments to home accessories
- We re-use fabrics so no need to buy new.
- We discover who we are, our style, build self confidence and meet new friends.
- We feel more resilient, adaptable, empowered.
- Studio located in Hankerton, in a private garden tucked in between Malmesbury/Tetbury/Cirencester

This July’s sewing workshops will be soooo cool and fresh! 😁

Always a pleasure to think about what to prepare next, usually I focus on my students's comments: "OH! I would not be able to do that anymore!", so I bring that very thing 😋

And while they are embroidering a little bee, repeating a sequence of different stitches, sewing a button without any instructions, an Easter basket (and its carrots!) or weaving a Moroccan mini rug.... they just get on with it as if they ave always known how!

When we look at the result and I remind them of that "limitation" they thought they had, I love watching the smiles on their faces!!

It fills my heart (and theirs!) with a lot of joy and pride. 🥰 and along the way, I learn from listening to their life stories. It's such a special time shared with these wonderful women.🙏

A lovely feedback I received on my last visit was "I spent my life teaching others and yet, you just taught me something new! Didn't think I could do that anymore!" 🥰.

Human sharing time, skills, kindness, stories. I love that my "job" gets me to feel that way and gives so much joy to others.

Today, we’re delighted to introduce you to Celine, one of the wonderful people who helps make life at Goodson Lodge so special. 💖

Every month, Celine visits us with a creative sewing project from Thread & Roots , bringing plenty of inspiration, laughter, and creativity along with her! 🪡😊 Our residents always look forward to her visits and enjoy learning new skills while creating something unique together.

Most recently, Celine has been helping our residents sew beautiful picnic baskets 🧺🌼, just in time for National Picnic Month The finished creations are fantastic, and everyone has taken great pride in their work. 🌞👏

A huge thank you to Celine for sharing her time, talent, and enthusiasm with us. 💕 It’s people like her and the amazing community groups we work with that make life at Goodson Lodge so vibrant, creative, and joyful.
