My first Sewing Retreat is happening in 2026! (This year has definitely been a year of firsts for me and I’m loving it ❤️)

After speaking to 32 venues and visiting several of them, I finally found one that felt just right.

The food is excellent, the gardens are beautiful and the accommodation is lovely. It feels like the perfect setting for a relaxed, creative weekend of sewing together.

There will be only 12 spots available, so it will be a small and intimate retreat.

The retreat will take place over the weekend of 20th November 2026.

I’ll be sharing more details over the next few days but if you’re interested in joining, sign up to the waitlist!

Yesterdays's Sew&Bond™ went by too quickly!

I love this little sewing community that we have built here.

Everyone is warm and friendly and always on hand to help each other out, whether that be sewing related or otherwise.

There was a wide range of projects going on. There were cushion covers, skirts, tops, dresses, pj bottoms, t-shirts and cloning of much loved store bought pieces.

Thank you so much for coming today, it was a pleasure spending the day with you!❤️

Sew Your Own Trousers Workshops in partnership with Janome is now open for bookings!

If you ever made trousers that didn't quite fit the way you hoped or you've been putting off making your first pair because they seem intimidating, this workshop is for you.

Together we will make the Thea Trousers by Tilly and the Buttons but before the workshop even begins, you will receive your pattern in the post and complete a fitting questionnaire. This means we can identify any adjustments before you even cut into your fabric.

On the day, I will guide you step-by-step through the construction while explaining common fitting issues and how to improve the fit for your body. With a small group, you will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get individual support.

You will leave not only with a beautiful pair of handmade trousers but also with a better understanding of trouser fitting that you can use in future projects.

📅 Date: 17th July 2026 (Fri)
⌚ Time: 09.45 - 16:15 (6.5h)
📍 Location: Janome HQ

H wanted to make baskets to keep her pens and pencils in at school, so we made two!

Since she had only decided on this project a few minutes before I arrived we didn't have all the tools, but we improvised.

We used some felt and had to cut it and sew it back to reshape it to the size of the piece of fabric we cut so it could give the basket some shape and not be floppy.

Some serious thought was given to fabric choices and they turned out so well together!

I knew there would be interest in the 2026 sewing retreat.

I just didn’t expect this level of response and I’m incredibly grateful for it.

The retreat is intentionally small, limited to just 12 people and the waitlist has already grown far beyond that.

It’s brought back memories of when I launched the waitlist for the Sewn at Midnight Gala.

I remember thinking: I know this event will be special regardless of numbers…but deep down, I wasn’t sure I could fill a 50-guest event.

And then it sold out.

There’s something strange about the moment things begin to shift.

It's like you can feel it. At least I am sensing something different. Even regulars at my events, say the same thing. something feels different.

Less about quantity and more about quality. Really what people want, instead of what I think they want.

So many people had mentioned wanting something like this. (Honestly, it was the same with the Sewn at Midnight Gala, people kept saying there wasn’t anything like it in the North West of England.)

Thank you to everyone who joined the waitlist! ❤️

Extra thanks to Janome, who once again said yes to this before even knowing exactly what it was or what was happening. That kind of trust and support means a lot.

Brenda wanted help understanding a pattern to make a dress.

In one of our sessions we cut all the pieces from a duvet cover and started construction.

Brenda finished the rest of the dress at home and brought it back to show me! She did an excellent job!

In our next session, we made my pattern, the Lisbon Organiser. It turned out so good!

Every single version of it turns out so beautiful and unique!

The fabric choices for this on worked so well together!

Well done on all your hard work Brenda! ❤️

What a fantastic creative day!

This time instead of me making up the kits, I thought it would be fun to see where everyone's creative choices would take them.

We spent about 45 minutes making decisions on colours, prints, zips, zip pulls, webbing, lining...it's amazing how many creative decisions we have to make for one item!

But that is the joy of handmade - being able to create one of a kind pieces.

Surprisingly, most of the group went for the same design and similar colours.

We are missing a couple of people in our group photo here, but we had a great relaxing day altogether.

Next workshop will be on the 17th of July and this time I will shift from bag making to dressmaking. Stay tuned! ❤️

There are going to be four very happy family members!

Deborah invited me round for a private sewing session to help her make some boxed make-up pouches as gifts for her family and they turned out absolutely adorable.

Each pouch is fully lined with a different pink lining inside, giving every one its own unique personality while still tying the whole set together beautifully. She did a fantastic job choosing the fabrics and it was so lovely watching the project come together from individual pieces into four finished pouches ready to be gifted.

What made the afternoon especially enjoyable was that it wasn't just about sewing. As we worked through each step, we chatted about life, the books we enjoy reading, hobbies, family and all the little things that make creative afternoons so special.

By the end of the session, Deborah had created four beautiful boxed make-up!

I decided to experiment with colours and different shapes to make my Roma Necessaire pattern.

And this is one of my favourite exteriors I have ever made!😍

I can't wait for this workshop coming up in the next couple of weeks!

There will be lots of colours to choose from to either make the same shape as this, another sample I made, the original or something completely diffetent!

Everyone will be able to make their bag completely different and unique! They are all going to look beautiful!!

J enjoyed her 6-week course so much, she was back with another project that she has been wanting to make for some time.

Flared trousers!

We took J's measurements, traced her size, cut out the pattern and then fabric, and sewed most of trousers.

Most of it is being done on the overlocker which J has mastered over the course of our sessions.

Well done J!
