The business was started in 1982 by John Harrison who was at the time a clothing designer and ex international racing cyclist along with his wife Dorothy who was a sewing machinest. After John's frustration in trying to find a comfortable pair of cycling shorts he decided together they would design something more comfortable than the average shorts with the window cleaners rock hard chamois. 30 years later we are still manufacturing in the UK producing a full range of technical, wicking, breathable, windproof and waterproof garments from the racing to the leisure cyclist.

We have had a super busy month, from production to events and celebrations.

We celebrated Denise’s retirement this month in Manchester. Denise has worked for Lusso for over 20 years and has been an essential part of our team. She will be greatly missed by everyone.

Jake accomplished one of his long-time goals over the May bank holiday weekend. He cycled from the Lusso factory to Abergwyngregyn, North Wales. The ride was 103 miles in total and took him 6 hours.

Events are something we want to do more of, so we have invested in a full setup, starting with the inflatable gazebo and flags. Hopefully, you will see more of us this year.

This month, Jake celebrated his 27th birthday by taking a few days away from the factory and heading up to the Lakes in the van.

Our most recent social ride started and finished at Apex Social Café. We had a great turnout of around 35 people. Sun, sea, headwinds, and the occasional hen do in Blackpool — a great way to spend the last day of May.

Our first big event took place this month, where we supplied Garmin with 1,000 jerseys. It was a real pinch-me moment to see so many riders in Lusso clothing. We had a stand showcasing our products and even brought along our new jerseys, which launch this week.

Lusso cafe ride: .p.e.x.s.o.c.i.a.l

Sundays done right. A group of around 35 turned out for a spin around the Fylde Coast. Sun, sea, headwinds, and the occasional hen do in Blackpool awaited.

To top it off, .p.e.x.s.o.c.i.a.l provided top tier food and coffee to finish off, and also kindly showcased some of our new spring/summer range (jerseys dropping this week!).

A day we’ll never forget.

Seeing over 1,000 riders wearing jerseys we made for Ride Out charity event was a pretty special moment for our small team.

We started our ride at The Village in Helmshore and headed out on a big loop to Horwich before heading back to the cafe for a bite to eat and drink.

Social rides are an important part of cycling. They’re where confidence grows, friendships form, and miles feel easier because you’re not riding them alone. We have more planned so keep an eye on our socials.

This was April at Lusso.

Our first Lusso tour to Mallorca is officially in the books. We had an amazing group join us and were treated to some unreal weather all week, making it the perfect way to kick things off. Great rides, great people, and plenty of good memories made.

Our Ecom studio photoshoot was a big success. We captured some great content for the new collection, and even mixed things up with some funky sunglasses to add a bit of personality to the shots.

Lusso social ride number two didn’t disappoint. Starting and finishing at Village in Helmshore, we headed out on a big loop to Horwich before rolling back to the café. Great to meet some new faces.

It was also great to see John (old owner of Lusso) and Jake head out for a ride and catch up. Always good to keep those connections strong and share some miles together.

We’ve also launched our new bib shorts this month, so it’s been all hands on deck getting them made, packed, and ready to go. A busy one, but worth it to see them out on the roads.
