Honestly this is such a wonderful charity and see all the work they do it fills your heart. When I arrived the coffee and biscuits came out and then Caroline and Jen showed me the work and how it’s all processed . It’s a huge place. Every item of clothing is ironed and packed up like a new item with little treats . Yes I got abit teary but then you get into it. I’ve shared this post as I still have a good handful of followers and hope that if you don’t already know them then please take a minute and read their story

County grills is turning pink on Saturday 30th September! Please come and join us in raising money for breast cancer awareness which as most of you know is such a brilliant charity! Every hot drink sold on the day will be donated by us towards this amazing cause! Raffle tickets are available to buy now and on the day before we do the draw in the afternoon! Some amazing prizes to be won so get yourself down to help us raise some money! This charity like many others is very close to our hearts and we know the community of urmston will come together as always to help us raise as much as we possibly can. Raffle tickets are £2.00 a strip.

Had the most amazing retirement party last night with family and friends ( I’ve missed afew as they were gassing )

They say a business is nothing without its people and boy have we been lucky over the years.

Where to start. Our very first staff grafting hard on our busy market stalls - Andy, Steph, our son Louis, daughter Adele and daughter-in-law Jenn all braved the early, cold mornings for many years all fuelled by bacon butties and Fred’s dad jokes.

Then onto the ‘shop years’, finally a fixed roof over our heads (but sadly still the same dad jokes). So many people to thank here – Elaine, Kelly, Lynn, the original crew at Room 16-30 in Urmston and Macclesfield . Next up, our Chorlton store and a huge thank you to Marielle, Kirsty, Anna, Laura, Amy, Vicki, Olivia and Anya – honestly, you couldn’t meet a nicer bunch of girls, loved by us, loved by our customers.

Back over to Fred’s on Station Road – and a big shout out to the mighty combo of Musa, Chelsea, Alex H Lorna, Zara and Abbie and Alex Barker to our present day dream duo of Holly and Liv. We were so lucky to work with you while you studied and are so proud of seeing you all follow your dreams.

Thanks for putting up with me and Fred all these years, for the millions of garments steamed, natters over brews, too many keys lost (by me) and for sticking with us through thick and thin.

We could not have done it without you.
