Did somebody say 'gift idea'? Look what I found, just in time for Christmas!

This is another stunning design from the prolific, enigmatic, and mysteriously unsung Alfred Meakin. And this is a new one – an old, new one of course – on me.

As remarked, I've never heard of this pattern before, but I mark it as 1950s because it was clearly inspired by the wildly successful Midwinter ' ' pattern, released in 1956.

: Staid, respectable, high-end ceramics? Or playful and rather endearing as with this set of serving platter and five (I know, I know) side plates, with a very modernist still life pattern.
