This isn’t an easy post to write & it hasn’t been without much thought and introspection,
however it is time to let you all know I have decided to close the door on the chapter of Peachy & Birdie for the foreseeable.
Since the new year I feel I have lost my mojo and cannot seem to generate that spark & desire I once had for P&B and rather than letting things drift and doing a disservice to what I have built up it seems more fitting to close the door on a positive note.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported my little venture over the last 6 years, I have been lucky enough to have made some very special friends along the way.
Friends who I know will stay friends long after this is all over.
Special thanks go to The Nearly New ladies Debbie & Chris who gave me my start at their Nearly new sales, my mum & sister who supported me at each & every sale, Kelly & Dotty for being my biggest advocates & lovely Sophie for giving me the most wonderful opportunity in her beautiful shop.

P&B gave me the opportunity to be a part of the wonderful mum community in Market Harborough and helped me find myself again after becoming a first time mum at 44!

I feel lucky to have had that & happy to know there are still some great options out there to support preloved children’s clothing available to you, including .raine_preloved.drops, .littlies.preloved & to name but a few.

I will always be very much a strong advocate for preloved and it will always be at the heart of what & who I am.

Wishing you all the very best in the future & I’ll be sure to say hello when I am out and about in Harborough town.

Hi there Mr Leopard!
And hello to you guys too.
Can I just say sorry for the radio silence of late, I just needed a break from social media.
I hit a brick wall, I really wasn’t feeling it and the longer I went without posting the harder it felt to post.
I think I might have been a tortoise in a previous life because I have just wanted to curl up & hibernate.
I know I am not alone & lots of people feel that way particularly in January, so I decided to put my phone down and take a break.
Lots has happened in that time including interviewing & being offered a new job, making & spending time with friends, watching evening television with Mr C (I’ve really missed that), getting & starting a project to do up a caravan, reading a proper book for the first time in 7 years & some proper old fashioned home cooking, (fish pie no less).
Anyway it now feels like a better time to dip my toe back in to the world of Instagram once again & I wanted to start with a brightly coloured little post.
I will be adding some new stock over the coming weeks, I have really missed the shop, but I have enjoyed being more present in my own life so this time round it needs to be about a balance.
Sorry it is a bit long winded & garbled but thanks for sticking with me.
February we can do this!!

Oh hi there!

Just getting myself back into the swing of things again after a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

Sorting through some new bits to drop off in the coming weeks and catching up on much overdue admin.

For the first time in a long time I actually feel ok about it being January for a change. I like many people usually get the big time blues at this time of year, but this year I am feeling much more positive & upbeat about life.

I am enjoying getting my routines back and making plans for P&B as well as prioritising things that bring me happiness.

Like these very cute shoes, how can they make you anything other than happy.

They are bloody adorable.

Happy New Year my lovelies, long May this vibe continue.

So as the last working day before Christmas 2022 draws to a close, it is a time of reflection for me as Peachy & Birdie.
It has been a busy year following the two previous years.
The first full school year for Birdie without disruption, a return to part time office working for me too.
Then there is the shop, which has been brilliant, I have loved having my own little Preloved section, it really has grown in strength & flown high over the last 12 months.
I have loved the days that I have been lucky enough to work in the shop, it is always a bonus because it means I get to meet each one of you.
More now than ever Preloved has become so essential to so many with the cost of living crisis so I feel blessed to be a small part of this movement, and hopefully make a bit of a difference for those people who cannot afford brand new but still want their little ones to look good.
For me personally it is now a part of who I am, and whenever I am looking to buy anything my first port of call is always Preloved or Secondhand and I know I will never go back.
A big part of 2022 has also been about connecting with new friends and reconnecting with family.
Firstly getting the wonderful opportunity to spend a whole month this summer with our beautiful Peachy girl after not being able to see each other for just over 3 years.
It was very special moment for everyone to see Peachy & Birdie meet each other again after so long. It is one that will stay with me for a very long time.
Secondly the friendship I have with Sophie. It feels like we have known each other for years.
It is easy & I really believe that no matter what happens we have made a connection for life.
She's a treasure that one.
Finally you lovely lot!!
I know I always say it but there wouldn't be a Peachy & Birdie without your continued support & custom.
You guys are the best, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Whatever you are doing over the next few days, I wish you all a peaceful time, hopefully filled with happy moments, if not you have my permission to stay in your jim jams and eat copious amounts of chocolate & binge watch boxsets.
I on the other hand will see you in '23 with more of the same.

A favourite Pinafore Dress
A great little play on the dungaree is the pinny dress.
They work for most seasons & can be teamed with a long sleeve for winter, short sleeve or vest top for spring & summer.
Add a set of tights and cute Mary Janes like my picture for a smarter look or some chunky boots for a more casual option, or even sneaks & sandals during the warmer months.
The options are endless.
I particularly liked this lovely little leopard print offering.
Unfortunately this didn’t hang around too long and was sold out fairly quickly.

Christmas present.

That’s what this little jumper reminds me of with the tiny little knitted bows.

I am picturing this with a pretty little tartan skirt or some ruby red velour leggings.

The perfect little Christmas present.

Traditional Christmas with a twist.

Nothing beats a little traditional outfit on Christmas Day like a proper Peter Pan Collar.
do lovely traditional pieces with a little bit of a twist like this pretty Robin print long sleeve dress with the obligatory white Peter Pan collar.
The twist is this is a made out of a comfortable warm jersey fabric which can be washed at 30 degrees and can also get away without being ironed.
Definitely a plus in my book.

Slip, sliding away

So who’s enjoying running the slip slide gauntlet of the school run right now?

Definitely a requirement for boots & slip free sneaks.

These hi tops fit the bill and have the added plus of looking really cool too. A touch of Chanel perhaps with the quilted leather.

Take care out there people, no injuries this close to Christmas please.

Secondhand Sequins

Who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle at Christmas?
I am as guilty as the next person of loving a little bit of shimmer adorning my Christmas wardrobe.
But one thing it won’t be is brand new!
Why….well let me tell you why.
As we all know sequins are plastic and as such they do not biodegrade.
That means that they will sit in landfill for thousands of years.
Also during the production of a sequin garment a third of the material produced is wasted in the punching process which ends up in landfill & ultimately in our oceans.
Did you know that 1.7 million sequin items will end up in landfill after Christmas after only being worn on average 5 times.
It’s a sobering thought isn’t it.
So be sure to look out for the secondhand sequin instead if you still fancy a little bit of sparkle this Christmas.

Topped up!

It’s the weekend!
Can you believe it is 3 weeks until Christmas Eve!
How has that happened.
We spend so much time in denial about talking about Christmas and saying it’s too soon & than we are now literally knocking on Santa’s door!!
I added a few new bits in the shop yesterday including a little collection of boots & sneaks.

Fantastic Mr Fox

Has to be one of our favourite films with George Clooney and Meryl Streep.

I am a bit of a sucker for a fox print so couldn’t let this chic little chap in his beret slip by.

I have teamed him with a pair of two tone soft gauze harem pants made by and what a cute little pairing they make.

As Mr Fox would say…..
