It’s been a toughie deciding whether to bare the cost of a new machine or wait for mine to be fixed, but after a few discussions and the fact that my trusty 9200D is 16years old, I decided as a small business I couldn’t be without my overlocker for even a short period of time,I really could have done with out the cost right now but if this lasts me another 15/16 years I’ll be laughing!
So I’ll send of my 9200D to be looked at and they will let me know if it can be saved, not going to lie after using the new one I think the old one has been on the way out for a looong time!

My dad brought me it for uni in 2010, it sat unused pretty much between 2011-2016 and then I’ve used it alot ever since, alongside this I run my new Janome SP and I still using my mums Janome 327 something a rather - which has got to be near 30 years lol. 😂

I also have a blind hem machine, a cover stitch machine in my studio, along with a few vintage singer and bernina in the garage.

The finer details always finish the garment. So when we’re working to adjust something that has very fine details, we try our upmost best to make sure that we finish it exactly the way it was before.
This dress has a very thin piping along the neck edge, which is continuous front to back, in order to maintain that smooth over the shoulder look we had to unpick the piping mid front all the way to Centre back on both sides, we shortened the shoulders and then we stitched the piping back in resetting as it was previously.

Changing the lining on this wool jacket, keeping those small details, making the pleat in the back bigger to give the jacket lining more room to move. Giving this beautiful coat years more life of wear!
At the same time we took the opportunity to shorten the sleeves as they were very cleverly hand tacked up, that you wouldn’t have known they were as such.

It’s not always easy ordering a zip to match fabric, especially when the picture online looks exactly like the colour of the item. But we do our thing, run it past our clients and get the best results!

Client came in looking for some help for buttons for his jacket.
I had a few black and gold buttons left from a previous shirt project years ago, but not enough . So I ordered some more and we got to add these nice 18mm black and gold enamel buttons to the front of this jacket as well@as the pocket and cuffs.
For the shoulders I had some nice square detailed buttons in my collection which were perfect.
We kept the back simple and in keeping with the original jacket by just adding 20mm black covered buttons.
