Here’s a sneak peek at some of the photos that will be in our shop window this weekend, to tie in with the Armed Forces Day celebrations.
Please come and take a look at the Briggs family’s military history memorabilia display.
It features Great Uncle Bert, including a photograph of him with the Border Regiment Dance Band, where he played as a violinist whilst serving with the British Expeditionary Force during World War II.
We also have a photograph of Great Uncle Bert’s father, Jack Briggs, from the First World War, as well as a photo of the latest generation, Dan. He is a Royal Navy Lieutenant currently based in Devonport, Plymouth.
If you look closely, you might even spot the family resemblance! Dan’s father, Tom, still runs the business, while his brother Luke, a familiar face to many of our customers, works in the shop full-time.
From Jack Briggs in the First World War, to Dan still serving today, it’s a proud family history spanning more than a century.
