Celebrate each full moon of the year with a blackwork embroidery design that has been inspired by ancient Pagan and traditional themes. 12 designs will be released throughout the year,in time for each full moon.
June is called the ‘Mead Moon’ but other names include ‘Rose Moon’ and ‘Dyad Moon’. This design includes elements of busy buzzing bees, honey pots and sweet juicy strawberries. Bramble flowers appear, promising the juicy autumnal fruits to come later in the year. The central motif represents the half year.
This design for Blackwork embroidery is stitched on evenweave fabric to allow finer detail created by half stitches.
TWO KIT OPTIONS: stitch using traditional black on ecru fabric OR stitch with one of my unique hand-dyed variegated threads on a contrast coloured background. You can also buy the digital PDF download.
