Celebrating 150 years of the Lace Industry in the Irvine Valley was a huge deal and we were proud to donate our textiles and materials from around the mill to a local nail & beauty salon
A celebration was held during the local gala day and LJ Beauty won the best dressed window. Well done for everyone’s efforts to make this happen 🧵🧶

A recent development we’ve been working on is a selection of tartan weave madras sheers. Sourcing new yarns to update our yarn bank could only mean one thing- trying out our new design in an array of colours and compositions. Beautiful new chenille and wool yarns creating a unique 3D texture.

We had the privilege of working with Yinka ilori on this exciting Kaleidoscopic project, translating his vibrant design ideas into both our madras (Scotch Leno Gauze weave) and our Lace qualities.💛
At MYB Textiles we love to take on a challenge, and to produce such colourful artworks, our madras looms had to be adapted slightly to weave more colours than our normal production runs. This resulted in the full colour spectrum being seen in the final fabric creating more depth.
Six large madras artworks were produced, alongside meterage of lace and madras to adorn the walls, frames and drumkits of the gallery.
From liaising to designing and sampling, this colourful project was a whole year in the making, and what they created with the fabric was nothing short of beautiful and spectacular!
Yinka Ilori has interestingly used Nigeria’s national flower (Costus Spectabilis) as his base for inspiration conveying it as a SPIRITUAL REFLECTION ON PRESENCE AND PARADISE FOR ALL, CONTEMPLATING THE INTERCONNECTEDNESS OF LIFE, THE AFTERLIFE, AND THE CYCLICAL NATURE OF EXISTENCE.
Thank you for giving us this opportunity to work with you and all of your hard working team (in particular Klara Zepp), it has been an amazing project to be part of.
