Dublin boots don't usually have zips, unless they come to A.G. Meek of course.
We fitted zips into these for a very happy customer recently.

What a piece of history!

A customer brought this into our Newport shop this week. It is the address label from a pair of shoes we posted to a customer in 1953!

It seems Newport phone numbers only had 4 digits then. Cardiff, Bristol and Swansea had 5 digits.

I wonder why this was kept and where it has been for 70 years!

It is with a heavy heart we have to announce the passing of our Newport branch cobbler Paul Mayho.
He was always happy, ready to share his vast knowledge and an all round top man.
Your work colleagues are your 2nd family and to lose one is awful, we miss him already.

All done! A sympathetic restoration to this nearly 50yr old breifcase. We patched, stitched and re-dyed it. Hand made and hand stitched the piping to keep all the edges together for another 50 years. Hard work, but well worth the effort.
