What does becoming a B Corp actually mean?

B Corp certification looks at the whole business; how we govern, how we treat our people, how we contribute to our communities and, of course, how we measure our impact on the environment.

For Waterhaul, that means taking a closer look at everything we do, from recovering and recycling end-of-life fishing gear, to the people who make it happen, the communities we work with and the decisions we make as a business.

We achieved a B Impact Score of 115.4.

We’re proud of that number, but we’re even more interested in what comes next as we commit to keep measuring, improving and holding ourselves accountable.

The badge is new. The mission isn’t.

Waterhaul is now B Corp™ Certified.

As a Certified B Corporation™, we’re proud to be part of a community of companies working together for change, and taking part in collective action to advocate for a shared goal of a global economy that benefits people and the planet.

B Corp certification is a huge milestone for Waterhaul, and something we are very proud of, but it isn’t a finish line; it’s a commitment to continual improvement.

Every three years we’ll reassess our impact, challenging ourselves to raise the bar and ensure Waterhaul continues to be a business that creates lasting value for people, communities and the planet.

Impact has been our focus since our founding in 2019, and now as a B Corp in the materials recovery & recycling industry, we’re counted among businesses that are leading a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.
