Volunteers are amazing! 💚

Meet David - who volunteers in our Music Shop in Glasgow. After spending 40 years working as an engineer, when David retired he swapped the factory floor for the shop floor and has never looked back.

He told us: "The best part of volunteering is the people you meet, who range in age from secondary school children and students to pensioners like myself.

"To anyone thinking of volunteering at Oxfam, where we raise money for such a worthwhile cause, I would say 'give it a go – you’ll love being part of the Oxfamily!'"

As a volunteer Stockroom Assistant you will help families facing poverty around the world by sorting, checking, and making the most of the fantastic variety of donated items in our friendly shop.

What will you be doing?
* Making the most of everything donated to us
* Sorting through bags and boxes of kindly donated clothes and accessories
* Steaming and organising clothes to get them ready for sale
* Checking and pricing items
* Filling shelves and rails on the shop floor
* Spotting the most valuable and interesting items donated

Whatever you need -
We will give you all the training you need in a supportive workplace. So if you’re brand new to working in retail or have years of experience, we’ve got you covered. You can also get some lunch and travel costs too.

Volunteering that works for you -
Volunteering can be very flexible to suit you. So even if your availability or skills don’t match this role, get in touch and we will findsomething right for you. By volunteering for a few hours a week, you will meet new people and have some fun for a good cause. If you can’t apply online please visit the shop for a paper form.
