Looking back at prom season and feeling inspired by all the young people who chose to celebrate who they are through their style. ✨

We adjusted some beautiful gowns from Specialising in prom and evening dresses 👗 but a special shoutout goes to Isla who arrived on a motorbike wearing her alternative prom suit!

Instead of choosing a traditional dress, she designed a look that felt completely her own. We made her two-piece waistcoat and trousers using fabric from Minerva & she styled with her own black shirt and funky baseball boots.

Style isn’t about fitting into a box or following a trend, it’s about confidence, creativity, and expressing yourself. We love seeing young women embrace their individuality and redefine what feeling glamorous looks like.

Thank you for sharing your photos with us. We loved seeing you all glammed up in something that truly represents you. 🤍

Sorry everyone, we won’t be open late for walk-ins this evening because we’ve quite literally turned into a sweatshop… and we’re the ones doing the melting. 🫠

Bitch & Stitchers… there’s no session this week either.

We’ll be back tomorrow when we’ve re-solidified. Stay cool! ☀️💦

Nothing says summer quite like classic red & white gingham ❤️🤍

These bespoke, handmade round cushions, finished with crisp red piping and the sweetest frill, are giving all the picnic-core vibes. The perfect pop of charm for garden benches, window seats, or cosy corners.

Amelia, our Ascot Best Dressed! ✨

Every year, Amelia visits us with her own dress designs, and this was another show-stopper.

This year she chose a strapless b***d corset bodice with soft georgette, ruffled off-the-shoulder straps and a structured flared skirt, but the real standout was the back, featuring a dramatic pleated train finished with a matching georgette bow.

We always look forward to seeing & creating Amelia’s incredible designs!

Freshly steamed and ready for the big day ✨👰

We’ve had some truly spectacular gowns through the studio this year, and this beauty is no exception. With a full skirt and dramatic train, proper preparation is key to keeping your dress looking flawless from the moment you step into it.

Here are our top tips for storing and preparing your wedding dress before the big day:

🤍 Hang it properly
Always hang your gown using the internal hanging loops (not the shoulder straps) to prevent stretching and keep the bodice in perfect shape.

🤍 Choose the right spot
Store your dress in a cool, dry room away from direct sunlight, pets, and curious little hands.

🤍 Steam close to the wedding day
Have your gown professionally steamed 1–2 days before the wedding for the freshest finish.

🤍 Remove the cover after steaming
Allow your dress to hang freely, out of the storage bag to avoid creasing before the day.

🤍 Give the train room
If your dress has a long train, make sure it has enough space to drape naturally without being crumpled.

🤍 Dress last
Hair and makeup first, then step into your gown to avoid accidental marks or creases.

🤍 Use a crochet hook for buttons
A small crochet hook is a bridal lifesaver when nerves are running high! Hook the elastic loops and gently pull them over each button - much quicker and easier, especially for gowns with dozens of tiny buttons.

🤍 Keep hands clean
Ask anyone helping you dress to wash their hands before touching the gown.

🤍 Allow extra time
Getting into your dress can take longer than expected, so set aside plenty of time for a calm and stress-free morning.

A little preparation goes a long way in ensuring your dress looks as breathtaking as the moment you first fell in love with it. 💍✨

A wardrobe refresh just for me! This gorgeous scrap of soft, vintage Indian cotton has been lounging in my fabric stash for literally decades, waiting for its moment to shine - and today was the day!

Monday’s usually an admin day but (miraculously) I had a couple of hours to spare, so I whipped up a simple, super comfy, pair of cropped trousers with a pleated front and, of course, pockets! 🙌🏼
