🚨 Selling your own clothes on Vinted? Read this.

If you’ve noticed more stories about Vinted accounts being restricted or banned recently, you’re not imagining it.

Vinted’s moderation seems to be getting increasingly aggressive and genuine items can sometimes get caught up in it too.

So if you’re having a clear-out, a few simple things are worth keeping in mind:

• Make sure your items are genuine
• Take clear photos of the brand labels and item details
• Keep proof of purchase where you have it
• Be accurate with your descriptions
• Don’t list things that aren’t permitted

And if you’re selling branded trainers, bags or other higher-value pieces, I’d be particularly careful.

Vinted is still a great place to clear out your wardrobe, but it’s worth being aware of how much more closely listings are being scrutinised.

We recently looked at 10 Vinted listings… 👀

And there were some really easy wins.

We recently carried out a Vinted Audit for a seller who had 10 items listed, and whilst there was nothing particularly “wrong” with the listings, there were definitely areas where they could be doing more to encourage buyers to click and ultimately buy.

We looked at the photos, titles, descriptions and pricing of each item and gave specific feedback on what we would change.

Sometimes it's not that you've got the wrong items.

And it's not necessarily that your prices are too high.

An important update from Styled & Sold 🤍

After a lot of thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to close our managed resale service for the time being.

Unfortunately, our business Vinted account has been blocked through no fault of our own, and despite our efforts to resolve the situation, we’ve been unable to continue using the account as normal.

As the managed resale service relies heavily on Vinted, this means it’s no longer possible for us to continue offering the service in the way we have been.

But Styled & Sold isn’t disappearing!

I’ll still be offering:

✨ List Assist – helping you create better listings and get your items live yourself
✨ Vinted Audits – personalised advice on your listings, account and selling strategy
✨ Digital Guides – practical guides to help you sell more successfully on Vinted

It’s not the ending I had planned for Styled & Sold, but I’m looking forward to taking it in a new direction.

💷 What you paid for an item doesn’t always determine what it will sell for

One of the biggest things people underestimate when selling on Vinted is the difference between what something cost originally and what someone is willing to pay for it now.

And it’s completely understandable.

If you paid £80 for a dress, wore it twice and it’s still in great condition, it’s natural to think it should still be worth a good percentage of that.

But resale works differently.

The value of an item on Vinted is based on what buyers are looking for right now, not just the original retail price.

When we price items, we look at things like:

✔️ Current demand
✔️ Brand popularity
✔️ Style and trends
✔️ Condition
✔️ Similar items available
✔️ How competitive the market is

Our aim isn’t to simply put the highest possible price on every item.

Because a £50 listing that sits for months isn’t always better than a £35 listing that finds the right buyer quickly.

The goal is to maximise the potential of each item while making sure the price reflects what the market is actually prepared to pay.

Sometimes that means an item exceeds expectations.

Sometimes it means being realistic about resale value.

Either way, informed pricing is one of the biggest factors in turning clothes into cash.

A few weeks ago, a client trusted us with a bundle of 50 items that she no longer needed.

As we approach the end of the selling period, 37 of those items have already sold, generating £590 in sales.

After our service fee, this has resulted in £365 profit back to our client, with a few items still available.

What’s great about this result is that it wasn’t based on one single high-value piece.

✨ A little reminder of why we do what we do ✨

A few weeks ago, a lovely lady came to see us. Like so many families right now, she’d been feeling the squeeze of the cost-of-living crisis. Between the soaring bills and everyday expenses, things like holidays had completely taken a backseat. In fact, her family hadn't managed to get away together in years.

One of our clients recently sent us a bundle of just 10 items.

The bundle included a mix of brands such as:

✔️ Hobbs
✔️ Boden
✔️ Zara
✔️ Levi's

Nothing massive, just pieces she wasn’t wearing anymore.

So far that bundle has already generated £169, with just one item still left to sell.

Which means she’s more than doubled the value of what she sent in from clothes that were just sitting in her wardrobe doing nothing.

It’s a good reminder that you don’t always need huge clear-outs to see results. Sometimes even a small selection of the right items can make a real difference.
