A Bit of Story Behind

It had been almost 10 years since I last wore a kimono.
When I was 15–17, I spent two years training as a kimono dresser because I loved our traditional dress so deeply.

Receiving an invitation with the dress code Black Tie or National Dress, and a strong theme of “rewear, repair and recycle,” felt incredibly meaningful to me.

A heartfelt thank you to my friend for generously trusting me with this beautiful kimono.

The dress code for the evening was ‘Rewear, Repair, Recycle’, and guests were encouraged to come dressed with sustainability in mind - rewearing, finding something preloved, upcycling, or taking their own green spin on the occasion.

A Royal Premiere

I’m still a little in awe of how extraordinary this week went.
Attending the Royal Premiere at Windsor Castle felt almost unreal — like stepping briefly into a dream. I don’t think I’ve ever felt quite so special at an event before.

It was my first time visiting the Castle, and the moment I stepped into the reception room, the word “wow” slipped out of my mouth without any intention. Truly breathtaking — immaculately beautiful in a way that stopped me in my tracks.

The evening marked the Royal Premiere of ‘Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision’ — a landmark documentary created in collaboration with and Video, launching globally on 6 February 2026. I had the privilege of watching it ahead of its release, in the presence of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The film speaks quietly yet powerfully about harmony — between people and planet, tradition and future — a theme that resonates deeply with my own practice and the way I think about making.

The evening also brought moments I will hold onto for a long time: conversations in the reception rooms, wearing a vintage kimono passed down through generations, and the honour of meeting .duchessofedinburgh

With heartfelt thanks to The King’s Foundation for the invitation and for continuing to champion craft, heritage, and thoughtful futures. It was so nice to get together again with the other 35 UNDER 35 as well.

2025

I know everyone is in their 2016 era at the moment, but I’m sharing my 2025 moments.

Looking back, 2025 held so many meaningful milestones — some loud, some very quiet. From exhibitions and fairs to drawing, weaving, learning, and showing up even when life felt full.

From exhibiting at Gallery 57, to showing work at Collect with NM Art & Design, I felt held by meaningful collaborations and generous support. Collect, in particular, has long been a place I aspired to be part of, so being there meant a great deal.

It was an honour to be featured by QEST during their International Women’s Day celebrations, and again for their 35-year anniversary — a reminder of how vital long-term investment in craft truly is.

This year also held quieter, slower moments: drawing and imagining new work, developing pieces for Wales, and exhibiting at Makers Guild Wales — where ideas on paper became woven form.

Making my PAD London debut, being part of a group show at Tarpey Gallery, and closing the year at Manchester Art Fair — beautifully organised by Marek and my Primary mates — felt like a full circle.

Above all, thank you. To galleries, institutions, organisers, collectors, friends, and everyone who supported my practice in ways seen and unseen.
2025 asked a lot — but it also gave so much back.
