Today we’re sharing something a little different.🤍
This is our colleague, Harriet.
Harriet is our Head of Sales at White Rose, and she’s currently facing the biggest fight of her life after being diagnosed with aggressive stage 4 cancer.
After previously overcoming breast cancer, Harriet learned it had spread to her lungs and lymph nodes. While chemotherapy has successfully cleared the cancer from her lymph nodes, she continues treatment for seven tumours in her lungs. More recently, Harriet received the devastating news that the cancer has also spread to her brain.
This week, Harriet begins further treatment to target the tumour in her brain and two of the most aggressive tumours in her lungs. As a result of the treatments possible side effects, she won’t be able to drive for the next year, adding another challenge for Harriet, her husband Joe and their beautiful two year old daughter, Nellie.
Harriet’s family and friends set up a fundraising page to help ease the financial pressure of ongoing treatment costs and to support an additional treatment option available in Germany, which costs £5,000 a month for six months.
Despite everything she’s facing, Harriet remains incredibly determined. Her biggest wish is to beat this and return to the job she loves at White Rose. If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, or simply share Harriet’s story, it would mean the world to her and her family.
