Dragonflies Day Nursery This page is dedicated to keeping you up to date with everything that is happening at Dragonflies!🙂 We take children from 6 weeks old to 5 years of age.

Our beautiful nursery is a real home from home for the children. We believe that each child is unique and want to work with you as parents, to unlock your child’s full potential through each individual child’s learning styles and interests. At Dragonflies Nursery and pre-school we lay the foundations so that when your child leaves us to go to school, they are happy, confident, well-educated and fu

lly equipped for their next big step. General Information:

Our nursery is organised around the different ages and stages of development which enables us to tailor the facilities we provide to the needs of all the children in our care. Our opening hours are 7.30am – 6.00pm Monday to Friday all year round, except Bank Holidays. We have flexible sessional offers and full day care available to suit your needs. Please ask for further details of times and prices. Located right in the heart of Calverton, opposite the Post Office. We have easy access and a safe drop off and pick up area.

🏅 Here's a snippet of our Sports Theme Week at Dragonflies! 🏃‍♀️⚽🏅

Our little ones have had an amazing time taking part in fun sporting activities, cheering each other on, and developing their teamwork, confidence, and determination. There have been lots of smiles, laughter, and active learning throughout the week!

We've had a fantastic week making the most of the warm weather! The children have enjoyed lots of water play, helping them stay cool while having fun. We have also spent time taking part in calming activities both in the shade outdoors and inside, ensuring everyone stayed comfortable during the hotter parts of the day.

Throughout the week, we have completed activities and had lots of discussions with the children about the importance of sun safety and how to keep ourselves safe in warm weather.

As the warm weather continues, we'd like to remind all families of these important sun safety tips for children aged 0–5 years:

☀️ Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+ or higher) at least every 2 hours
🧢 Sun hats that provides good coverage for their face and neck.
👕 Dress your child in lightweight, loose-fitting clothing that covers their shoulders where possible.
💧 Stay well hydrated throughout the day.
🌳 Encourage children to play in the shade, especially during the hottest part of the day.
😎 If your child wears sunglasses, choose ones that offer UV protection and fit securely.

Last Friday we said a temporary goodbye to Ashleigh as she officially begins her maternity leave.

We would like to thank Ashleigh for all of her hard work, dedication, and care she has shown to the children and families throughout her time with us. She has been a valued member of our team, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she does.

We wish Ashleigh all the very best for the final weeks of her pregnancy and hope she takes the time to relax and enjoy this special chapter. We are so excited for her and can't wait to hear the wonderful news when her little one arrives.

Good luck, Ashleigh – we will miss you and look forward to meeting your newest addition soon! ❤️👶

🌟 Staff Members of the Month 🌟

A huge congratulations to our two Staff Members of the Month, who were voted for by their colleagues in recognition of their hard work, dedication, and positive impact on the team. 👏

💖 Chloe has taken the recent room changes completely in her stride, working incredibly hard to replenish resources and reorganise the toddler room to ensure they continue to meet the children's needs and support their development. Her flexibility and commitment have been greatly appreciated by both the team and the children.

💖 Ashleigh has continued to give 100% in everything she does, putting so much effort into her practice and supporting the children and team every day. Even with her maternity leave just around the corner, she remains dedicated, hardworking, and committed to providing the very best care and learning experiences.

Thank you both for everything you do. We are incredibly proud to have you as part of our team and are so grateful for your hard work and dedication. Well done, Chloe and Ashleigh! 🌟🎉
