♻️ One person’s trash is another person’s treasure ♻️
As we wait to hear the outcome of our award nomination, we’ve found ourselves reflecting on the little things that make Little Village Soft Play what it is.
One thing that’s always been important to us is sustainability. Wherever possible, we love giving items a second life rather than buying brand new.
Some of our favourite pieces have been found pre-loved — from ride-ons and plush teddies to party props and cardboard cut-outs. Not only does it reduce waste, but it means perfectly good items get to be enjoyed by another generation of little ones.
Our soft play itself is made from eco leather, helping us make conscious choices where we can while still providing beautiful setups for your celebrations.
But sustainability is only one piece of the puzzle.
We’re passionate about supporting local businesses too, collaborating rather than competing, and building a community where everyone can thrive. Over the years we’ve worked alongside some incredible local suppliers and have made some wonderful friendships along the way.

🩷🪿ONE silly goose 🪿🩷 This gorgeous garden setup in Bingham was created for the sweetest first birthday celebration for little Everly 🤍
Our signature neutral soft play paired perfectly with the “ONE Silly Goose” theme, complete with personalised ball pit, soft pink accents and plenty of space for little ones to play, explore and celebrate 🎈
With summer parties in full swing, we have to give a special mention to Everly’s family, who had the perfect setup ready with plenty of shade for the little guests. While we all love sunshine, soft play can get very warm in direct sunlight, so covered areas like this gazebo make all the difference ☀️
A beautiful garden, a gorgeous theme, lovely family and a very special little girl turning ONE — what more could you ask for? 🥹

We had the absolute pleasure of setting up for Roman’s 1st Birthday, and what a beautiful celebration it was 🥹
The sweetest Peter Rabbit theme paired with soft pastel blues created the most gorgeous setting for a very special little boy’s big day ✨
Our soft play fitted perfectly amongst the beautiful décor, giving the littlest guests their own space to play, explore and make memories while family and friends celebrated together 🤍

We’re just two mums who started with an idea and a hope that we could create something special for local families.
Of course, we provide soft play setups, but for us, it’s always been about so much more than that.
✨ Supporting our local community and fellow small businesses.
✨ Celebrating milestones, from baby showers and naming ceremonies to first birthdays and weddings.
✨ Supporting charities and causes close to our hearts.
✨ Making sure no little one is left out with our complimentary Baby Bundle for the tiniest guests.
✨ Giving pre-loved items a second chance and making conscious choices for our business and our planet.
✨ Believing in support over competition and cheering on other local businesses.
✨ Showing kindness, flexibility and understanding when life doesn’t quite go to plan.
We’ve been privileged to play a small part in so many special moments, including supporting families facing challenging circumstances and helping them celebrate precious milestones.
Most importantly, we’re here to help create memories 🤍

🫠 Things don’t always go to plan... 🫠
Instagram is full of perfectly styled setups and beautiful party photos, but behind the scenes? Sometimes things go a little sideways 🤭
Here are a few of our favourite Little Village mishaps over the past (nearly) year...
👠 The High Heel Incident
One customer stepped onto our play mats in heels for a family photo and unfortunately punctured several of the flooring mats. It was the first time we’d ever had to withhold part of a deposit! We only charged what it cost to replace the damaged mats (around half of the deposit) because we’re not total monsters 😂
⛺ The Teepee Tantrums
Our teepee has occasionally decided it simply does not want to cooperate. On a couple of occasions we’ve spent precious setup time trying to persuade it to behave before eventually admitting defeat and leaving it out altogether. We hate disappointing customers, so we’ve been searching for alternatives and have now ordered the cutest little play tent instead. We can’t wait to show you!
🧃 The Purple Wooden Toy
One of our wooden toys came back from a hire looking suspiciously lilac. It turns out blackcurrant juice and natural wood aren’t the best of friends 🙈 The customer was completely honest about what had happened, which we really appreciated, and we only charged to replace the damaged item.
🙋‍♀️ The One That Was Our Fault
It’s not often we make a mistake, but when we do, we genuinely hate it. At a charity event, we somehow forgot to pack the connecting flap for our step and slide. Cue us realising halfway through setup 😳 Thankfully the organiser was incredibly kind and understanding, but we still felt awful!
Running a small business means learning as you go, adapting when things don’t quite go to plan, and occasionally laughing at yourself along the way 😂
Thankfully, every party still went ahead, every little one still had fun, and we’ve picked up a few lessons along the way 🤍

☀️ Sunshine and soft play... what more could a little one want? 🤍
This gorgeous at-home setup featured our Signature Neutral Luxe package, perfectly nestled in the most beautiful garden space for a relaxed family celebration ✨
One of the things we love most about garden parties is the flexibility they offer. No venue hire deadlines, no rushing to set up or pack away, and plenty of time to enjoy making memories with family and friends. As parents ourselves, we know just how stressful party planning can be, so we’re always happy to work around what suits your day best 🥰
A huge thank you to this wonderful family too, who were incredibly friendly and helpful when it came to loading and unloading the equipment. We’ve certainly meet some truly lovely people through this little business 🤍
With summer quickly approaching, we thought we’d share a little tip for anyone considering an outdoor setup ☀️ Soft play should always be positioned in a shaded area, as direct sunshine can make the equipment very hot for little hands and feet. This setup was perfectly planned, with a gazebo providing shade and a large parasol covering the front section too (although not pictured)👏
And of course, British weather likes to keep us on our toes! 🌦️ We always recommend having a backup indoor location available just in case, and we’ll always do our best to be flexible and supportive should plans need to change.

✨ We’ve been a little quiet on socials lately... but only because we’ve been busy behind the scenes setting up lots of exciting celebrations! 🤍
One of our recent favourites was this fabulous setup for a huge Hey Duggee fan 🎈🐾
Our signature neutral soft play paired perfectly with themed ball pit colours to tie everything together and complement the party décor. We absolutely love how versatile our neutral collection is – it works beautifully with any theme!
It was such a lovely day for a celebration, filled with fun, laughter and little adventures 🥰
