I’m from a very creative family and growing up in that environment, I found that I had a natural talent for many aspects of art and creativity. The strongest of these developed in to a passion for sewing and textiles. Fabric captivates me; I am fascinated by it's pattern and colour, it's
design and embellishment, it's texture and form, it's ability to be invented and reinvented! So, following in the footsteps of my mother, who is a seamstress, I began studying textiles at school and college and then I trained as a textile artist at Manchester Metropolitan University completing a degree in embroidery with first class honours. In 2002 I received the Embroiderers guild future of design award for my innovative collection of contemporary embroidered bed linen and cushions, at the New Designers exhibition in London. Since then I have continued to develop this collection into exclusive artworks and have also spent time working in other creative fields including interior design, set design and construction, and event decor. I can sew. Design. Create. Embellish! In fact whatever you need, I can make it. Whether it's something like curtains and cushions you want, or a more bespoke creation like a child's bedroom play tent or a piece of textile wall art, I'm the person for the job! About Me
I live in Portishead where I am raising my three children, and looking after my home and husband. My life with them is permeated by my innate creativity, and I live and breathe my passion for sewing and textiles. I am constantly designing pieces for use in all areas of my life. I make soft furnishings, clothes, craft projects, furniture, I decorate and bake (though not at the same time!), I make kids costumes and gifts, and I sew for others. I surround myself with the things that inspire me, collecting fabrics and vintage accessories, creative magazines and media, ideas from fashion and interiors. I love my life and the gifts I am blessed with, and want to share them with you!
