-the freedom so that you can choose to fill your home with beautiful, fun, handmade products that co-ordinate, or don't, as you wish!
-the freedom to be responsible about how I source my materials, and to make sure I'm using the earth's resources as wisely as I can
-the freedom that comes with making my own patterns, having fun choosing fabrics, deciding which part of the home these would best suit, and lovingly crafting an item that someone else will cherish for years to come,
-the freedom to treat my customers as my friends, and to do my best work for each and every one of them. Thank you for allowing me that freedom - you are the heart of my business! I live within walking distance of the Major Oak, the Heart of Sherwood Forest, and walk in the forest regularly. These walks are my inspiration to create beautiful, lasting products that care for the environment, either by being recycled themselves, or by reducing the need for ever more packaging. I try to design my products with the forest ever in the background, as for instance, my grocery bag holders help to stop these invidious plastic bags being discarded carelessly and desecrating the countryside; my bowl covers mean plastic film can be used less; my advent calendars are refillable and reusable, so packaging isn't thrown away every year. Every little thing helps to save this wonderful forest for generations to come. I hope you like my range, and if you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Doreen is currently my only customer on a Monday afternoon - but she doesn’t mind. She gets one-to-one service for £5 an hour!! No need to book - just turn up at a convenient time for you -9 til 4. 🙂

As part of my training to become a Licensed Lay Minister, I went on a retreat recently to Launde Abbey, a Christian Retreat Centre in the heart of rural Leicestershire.
On the walls in the downstairs corridor were lots of these artworks, all featuring different Christian themes or quotes. To my shame, I can’t remember the artists name, although I did read about her, but I thought all of them were beautiful. Simple, poignant, but by no means easy, and beautiful. 😍

This was also donated to Linus, and thence to Quilts 4 Care Leavers. I thought I might be able to make this smaller to match our requirements , but I couldn’t bear to cut into it in the end, so this has also gone off for hive mind deliberations. 🙂

This quilt was donated to Linus, but was too big. I accepted it on behalf of Quilts 4 Care Leavers, even though it’s too big for our usual hugs. We do have other things we provide quilts for occasionally - shared spaces, hubs, quiet rooms, and this has gone off to the admin team, for the hive mind to work out where to send it.

Along with the child’s gilet, Alison has also made an evening bag from the offcuts. The strap is gorgeously fitting with the type of bag this is to be. What 6 year old wouldn’t want a posh evening bag like this?? 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Following on from the gilet Alison made herself, she has also made a smaller one for a grandchild. I think the stunning thing about this is the design details - the gorgeous toggles in just the right colour, and the angled pockets, make this much more sophisticated than just a copy of her own one. 🙂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Alison has been quietly working away on this gilet - all the squares are joined, then the sandwich is made and quilted, then the pieced and quilted fabric is cut to the pattern, and the garment is made up. Ooh, does this sound like sewing bee? 🤣. Very well done though, Alison! 👏🏻👏🏻
