Japlene Dressmakers of Oxford We are a friendly dress shop in Oxford and we offer a personal design and bespoke dressmaking service for all special occasions.

We make made-to-measure dresses and outfits all special occasions. We specialise in creating lovely outfits for the mother or the bride or groom as well as in bridesmaid dresses and beautiful wedding gowns. We have been designing and creating bespoke dresses for over 30 years and love making gorgeous, flattering dresses for all special occasions. You can see examples on our page here and also on o

We'd love to create something that you'll be proud to wear. 2022. Another year and hopefully we are almost back to normal. Now is the time to plan weddings and other celebrations. We can create an outfit for any occasion or alter or revamp an existing garment.
Make do and mend is now very popular and it is a challenge to see how garments can be transformed. A full alteration service is offered plus curtains and cushions.

This year has obviously been very challenging but I am now working as usual. Next year I expect to be very busy in general and particularly with wedding and bridesmaid dresses and Mother of the Bride outfits so if you want something making or altering please come and see me sooner rather than later.

Thought I would touch base with you all now that we have completed the move to Garsington and settled into the new workshop to which you are always welcome to visit.
We are busy working on designs for Spring and Summer and some of our more recent designs are shown below.
Remember that we can undertake any work you may require, from creating new garments to alterations (including wedding dresses to jeans) or revamping your treasured garments.
We have a wide range of fabrics including an excellent selection of silks and satins.
Our customers are finding us but please be aware that when using SatNav from Oxford to continue on the Oxford Rd round the hairpin bend at the Village Hall toward Wheatley and you will find Japlene on RH side opposite the phonebox and letterbox.
