Barsleys is a family run department store located in Paddock Wood in the Weald of Kent. We pride ourselves on offering excellent customer service and great value for money. This year we are proudly celebrating our 125th anniversary and April sees the festivities in full swing! We would like to invite you to join in the celebration & share your happy memories with us? After 135 years, the time has finally come to say goodbye…
This Friday & Saturday will be the final days that Barsleys opens its doors. 🥹
We’ll be open 10am–2pm on both days, with our remaining stock reduced even further — so there are some fantastic bargains to be found!

To all our wonderful customers, especially those who stopped by to say goodbye, shared a memory, sent us kind messages, or gathered outside at the end of the day to see us off – thank you. We were genuinely speechless. The love and support you showed us is something we will never forget.

Being part of this wonderful community for the past 135 years has been the greatest privilege for our family. Barsleys has always been so much more than just a shop. It has been built by the incredible people who worked here over the generations, whose hard work, dedication and kindness made Barsleys what it was, and by the loyal customers who supported us year after year. Together, you created something truly special, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of it.

As we closed the doors on our final full day, we were reminded just how special this community truly is. Your kindness, your stories and your support have meant more to us than words can ever express.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives for the past 135 years. It has been an honour.

Today's the Day... Our Last Full Day of Trading! ❤️
Well... here we are.
After 135 years, today is our final full day of trading at Barsleys.
If you've been meaning to pop in for one last browse, grab a bargain, or simply come and say hello, we'd absolutely love to see you today.
Just one small favour... please don't cry... because you'll probably set us off too! 😭
There are still some incredible bargains to be found throughout the store, and we'd love to see as many familiar faces as possible before we close our doors this afternoon at 5pm.
We'll save the really emotional goodbyes and thank yous for another post in the coming days. Today is about celebrating 135 wonderful years and sharing one last day with the community that's supported us for so long.

❤️ One Final Week...

It's hard to believe we're writing these words, but after 135 years at the heart of our community, our final full day of trading will be Saturday 1st August.

Over the years, we've had the privilege of serving generations of families, celebrating milestones with you, helping furnish homes, fitting children for their first school uniforms, and being part of countless everyday moments. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives.

To our incredible team, thank you for your dedication, professionalism and hard work. Through what has undoubtedly been a difficult and emotional time, you've continued to look after our customers with the same care and commitment that has always made Barsleys so special. We are so incredibly grateful.

As we enter our final week, we'd love to see as many of you as possible before we close our doors for the last time. Whether you've been shopping with us for decades or have only recently discovered us, your support has meant more than words can say.

(We'll continue to open on Fridays and Saturdays, 10am - 2pm, throughout August to provide our School Uniform service and to offer customers one final opportunity to purchase any remaining stock while it lasts.)
