I like many, had a dream, which is now a reality.
I have a dress obsession, which my friends & family will vouch for and love a little something different, being in sales I travelled with work and would pop into local boutiques, which resulted in me nearly always coming out with another new dress 👗.
I loved the friendly welcome, smaller stores and caring, professional service and thought, I wan't this!! I want my own shop!
Around 10 years ago, I dabbled, set up a fb page, got some stock and not much else happened, it wasn't the right time, I worked full time, family to look after and didn't really have time or financials to commit seriously to it, however, I had tried.
In Jun 2025, I still had this idea and dream and thought, lets try again, without any doubts in my mind, I set up my website, business accounts, got in touch and reactivated accounts with suppliers, ordered stock, decided to keep the original business name and booked up to attend local markets over the coming months and sell on-line.
It was a lot of work, preparing and organising each weekend to attend markets & fayres, however I loved engaging with customers and other small business owners, learning from their success & mistakes.
Later that year, I saw an ad for a space available at Browns Lane , Paisley, for a small business to join the other small businesses, I popped along and within a couple of weeks I was super excited to have all my stock in one place and have a permanent base. No more packing the car up and unloading at the other end and same again at the end of the day.
I was so happy & proud on my opening day, my little dream for so long had come true, here I was, with my own little space.
I look back at the photo below from opening day on 6th Dec 25 which was supported extremely well from my family, friends and footfall from Browns Lane that day, it was lovely meeting new & current customers.
Fast forward to Mar 26 and the shop got a bit of a makeover, thanks to Gary for his work to revamp my space and his vision of turning this into a shop space with an added bonus of a bright spacious changing room for customers to try before they buy.
Yesterday, I had a little re-fresh in-store and took a photo, which is the 2nd pic below, I am amazed by the difference since Dec 25 and humbled by the support of all my regular customers, who pop in, I love our littles chats, meeting new people and helping ladies find the perfect outfit, sometimes taking you out of your comfort zone.
So a huge thank you to ever person who has purchased from me since this journey began, to all lovely ladies I have met and your kind words of how lovely my stock and products are and your recommendations to your friends & family. Liking and sharing social posts and for hugs throughout this journey.
I also love being part of the wonderful supportive community of small business owners at Browns Lane, we are all so unique but have the same passion, to offer a friendly, professional service and for local support to continue trading and grow our small business.
Thank you is a very small thing to say, but I really do "THANK YOU" I have been so grateful and proud of each stage as I continue to learn & develop and provide a small intimate shopping experience in the heart of Paisley with fashion to make you look and feel fabulous.
