Ey up! I'm starting my tour of some of the things you'll find at this year's show. First stop ... the cattle.

There's something very special about seeing these magnificent animals up close and meeting the people who put in so much time getting them show ready. Whether you have been before, or wherher it's your first visit, there is always something fascinating to discover.

I'll be showing you lots more over the coming weeks. Don't forget to book your tickets to join me for a proper good family day out.

A Proper Good Show - has history in every corner

From vintage vehicles and machinery to traditional countryside crafts, Pen*stone Show is a celebration of the skills, stories and traditions that have shaped our rural communities for generations.

For one day each year, old favourites return, engines roar back into life and visitors of all ages can experience a little piece of the past.

Making memories since 1853. This year it's on Saturday 12th September.

We’re delighted to welcome a new judge to the Homecraft Section at this year’s Pen*stone Agricultural Show.

A fourth-generation baker, Andrew Potts joined Potts Bakers in 1970 after training at Thomas Danby College. The Barnsley-based family business dates back to 1891, and although now retired, he remains an advisor. He has lived near Pen*stone for over 20 years and is a regular at the show, where he has long admired the home-made produce.

He looks forward to judging the bakery classes this year, and we’re pleased to have him on board.

Now it’s over to you. Get your entries in and showcase your baking skills. We can’t wait to see what this year’s Homecraft Section has to offer.

Eeh… I've been up on the show field this week inspecting the banners. Now then... can we have a word about whoever packed these away last year? I reckon they just hoped for the best and called it a day!

I've got a proper job on now, sorting, checking and getting them ready to go back up around the local area. It's not the most glamorous job, but every banner helps spread the word about our fantastic Pen*stone Show.

The good news is you'll soon start seeing them popping up, which can only mean one thing - show day is getting closer!

A huge thank you to all our volunteers who give up their time to tackle jobs like this. As you know, we're 100% volunteer run, and every little job helps make the show happen.

Right then... I'd best get back to untangling this lot. Wish me luck!
