Firmly rooted in the City of Perth, gateway to the Highlands of Scotland, Margaret Morrison Ltd began life in 1999 specialising in the production of Highland Regalia Leatherwork including Sporrans, Belts, Straps, Pipers Cross and Waist Belts. All goods are hand made to order using the best quality leather and skins. Whenever possible we source our components from local Scottish suppliers. Some yea

rs ago we took the opportunity to incorporate Nicoll Bros. of Bankfoot into our business which allowed us to draw on Sporran manufacturing experience and expertise going back to the year 1834. We produce a wide selection of Dress, Semi-Formal and Daywear Sporrans along with Military and Piping styles from catalogue designs or bespoke commissions, each made individually to order. Marrying together traditional patterns and techniques with modern design, cutting and etching technology has allowed us to keep our products fresh and exciting which in turn helps promote Highland Wear as current and desirable in the modern world.

An incredible project to be part of! Every athlete wore a handmade in Scotland sporran and handbag at the opening ceremony. The sporran and handbag designed by Siobhan Mackenzie had an egraved thistle on the lid with gold features!

We love a challenge to make an idea come to life, and here is the process our our master craftsman at work.

From hand-dyeing the leather to give a rich chestnut colour, creating the brass metal work from scratch and welding it together, to measuring the distance between each punch hole. Each bullet casing meticously polished to match the studded targe and cantle. Hand pleated ropes with a subtle knot in the center, to creating one of patterns.
