There’s only a few more days left now until we finally say goodbye to our beloved Cornstore Emporium & tearoom. We are trading until 4.30 on Sunday 25 th ( February 4.00 for the tearoom)
And there’s certainly a few bargains to be had.
Not everything is reduced though as most people will trade elsewhere in Arundel, Midhurst, Petworth, Lewes and Dorking.
It’s a very sad time for all of our staff, traders and indeed customers and we have been completely overwhelmed by the support and kind words you have given us. In the last 3 months we really have discovered just what the business means to people and I personally am leaving with a full heart knowing I achieved what I set out to do after taking over 4 years ago.
I actually started trading here 18 years ago myself and so it will always hold a very special place in our hearts as a family . My girls have grown up & loved the place as much as I have.
I have to give credit to Angela Edwards who set up this center over 20 years ago. We still use many of her recipes that she kindly passed on to me ! It has changed and evolved slightly over the years but the core business model has remained the same, which is why I think it has been so popular and has been so hard to let go of.
As for my team, they have been incredible and I know our success is largely down to them and their support & hard work.
We have all made so many memories and wonderful friends along the way.
We wish the new tenants Tom & Beverley from Macklins all the best for the future. I believe they have lots of exciting things planned and hope you will support them in their new venture as you have with us.
