Let’s talk events. Grab a cuppa 🍵 could be a long one.

Yesterday was a good day I was buzzing I sold 2 bowl covers sets on there first outing.
While the taking is good nothing beats someone buying something you have created call me soppy but it proper melts the heart.
We were also inside so it’s what we call an easy set up.

Now the month before at same location we were outside now anyone that knows me knows I find this such a challenge. The anxiety leading up to it is real.
Weather? Do I have the right equipment ready? Is it windy? Do we have sides on or off? The list goes on. Others may find it easy but for me it feels like I’m building a house.

There are advantages of both inside outside.
Inside: pro no weather problems
Con limited space to display.
Outside: pro plenty of room to display.
Con weather is a yo-yo.

This is just stuff on the day. Before the day there is a mountain of prep and work to do speaking for myself all my stock is handmade so i have to allow days to make sure stock is topped up. Asses the event will certain stock be better ect ect honestly the list is endless.

Now your all probably thinking why do we bother (I’d be lying if I said Iv never thought that myself at times) and the reason is we get to meet lovely people and when people walk up to a table or pop in our gazebo and talk to us for 5 ten minutes about our passion all that stress is a blur. And when we make a sale are hearts are full.

The moral of this post is when you go to an event have a look. Have a chat. We won’t force you to buy but after all the effort we have been through to get there to see people just walk past is sole destroying show interest.

I’ll stop waffling now.

I can’t remember if I showed you all the outcome of the kitchen we sanded back?

Well if so here it is again 😂.

We went in and we removed all the doors and drawer fronts. We then sanded them all back removing old varnish and water marks. This kitchen is 20+ years old and still going very strong. Then we fitted them all back along with new handles and then sealed it all with osmo oil.

Do you have a kitchen you would like updated?

Let’s talk second hand furniture.

My friend always says, “Buy cheap, buy twice.” And honestly, she’s not wrong.

That’s exactly why I love second-hand furniture. Older pieces were often built to last, and with a little love and vision, they can become something beautiful again.

Pre-loved doesn’t mean second best.

Choose Drab to Fab – bringing quality furniture back to life, one piece at a time.

What’s your thoughts on second hand?

All these beautiful creations are second hand furniture.

Today I have been scrubbing this beautiful.

It’s definitely starting off as an ugly duckling 😢. But we are taking the care it needs to become beautiful. It’s had glue to repair some of the veneer and then today 2 rounds of sugar soap. (The colour of the water 🤢)

Tomorrow is filler and sanding day.

These may be the most boring photos Iv posted but they make me happy.

All paper work organised and labelled (just call me Monica).

So you can guess how I have spent my Saturday.

Ok so please tell me I am not alone when at 9am at night you decide to move the front room around 😅😅😅.

Steve and the dog are hiding somewhere and I’m on a mission with smooth radio. (My singing is a dream).
