Socio ZA Photography

Socio ZA Photography Socio ZA Photography is an outdoor, natural-light photography business based in Jeffreys Bay, Eastern Cape. That's when the magic happens. Yes please!

Photographer capturing real people, honest moments & golden light. ✨ Families · Couples · Maternity · Portraits · Events 📍 Jeffreys Bay & surrounds 📞 0689 414 922 I shoot maternity, family, couple, portrait, and event sessions in natural light, because that's where people relax and stop performing for the camera. My philosophy is simple: authenticity in front of the lens, presence over posing. I'm

not chasing the "perfect" pose; I'm chasing the real moment, the unguarded laugh, the quiet moment between two people who forgot the camera was there. I'm self-taught, and what I bring to every session isn't years of formal technique; it's genuine connection. Before I ever lift my camera, I make sure you feel safe enough to just be yourself. 📅 BOOKING
A 50% deposit confirms your booking, with the balance due on the day via EFT or cash.

👗 WHAT TO WEAR
• If you're a group, couple or family, try to coordinate your colours — not matching outfits, just a similar palette. It looks incredible in photos.
• Avoid busy patterns, stripes and logos — they distract from the most important thing in the frame: YOU.
• Flowy dresses? Wind is your friend.
• If your outfit has pockets, leave the phone/keys out of them. A phone-shaped lump tends to show up in ways nobody wants. 😄

💄 HAIR & BEAUTY
• If it's a beach or outdoor shoot — wind and salt water have their own agenda. Be prepared for the elements.
• For long hair, pack a hairband, hat or headband. Editing out wind-ravaged hair is difficult and rarely looks great, so if the wind picks up we may need to tie it back.

👶 IF YOU'RE BRINGING THE KIDS
• Busy bees are welcome — bring their favourite toy or snack to help when needed.
• I adore working with kids of all ages and all personalities! Embrace the excitement and play with them during the session. Playful pics are the best!
• Sometimes kiddies have a tough day; we can’t promise happy smiley photos when kiddies are sad, cold or unhappy. I’ll do my best and bring a happy vibe to the shoot for everyone. But sometimes a cuddle from you or a close-up of croc tears might be all they are willing to give us.

• Excited energy is great in front of the camera! But keep an eye near the water and near my gear. No touching or kicking props, and sandy hands away from the camera, please. 🙏
Damage to gear or props will be invoiced to parents. We've not had to do this yet, but want to avoid sending a tab for many Randelas to replace. 💸

🌤️ WEATHER
• I check in the day before and morning of to confirm weather and timing with you.
• JBay wind tends to pick up after 11am, so be prepared to brave the wind for afternoon shoots and remember a jacket/jersey for the cold, even in summer.

• Sessions are weather-dependent. I can't shoot in the rain. If we need to reschedule due to weather, please know I do this to protect your photos and my equipment — I'll always communicate as early as possible and be as flexible as I can.

⚠️ SAFETY ⚠️
• High Tide and rip currents are a real danger; please make sure you, the furkids and your little ones are safe when we’re near or in the water. We don’t always work near Lifeguard stations, and I want everyone to be safe.

• Valuables locked away in the car or at home. We can't guard them for you; putting valuables down around the shoot is at your own risk. We've not had an incident yet, but want to avoid temptation. EXTRAS
• 🐾 Pets are absolutely welcome — let me know in advance so I can plan the session around them.

• If you have inspo pics or ideas, please share them with me before the shoot. That way I arrive prepared and we get the most out of our time together. If something isn't possible, I'll always tell you.

• Someone always ends up in the water — pack a towel or two, and a bottle of water to rinse sandy feet, hands and faces.

• If you're the hangry type — no judgment, me too — pack a snack. 😄

⏰ TIMING
• Please arrive 5 minutes early so we have a chance to chat and make the most of your time. Late arrivals, unfortunately, lose that time from their session.

✨ ONE LAST THING
I shoot natural, honest and real. I believe you are beautiful exactly as you are. I don't do body modification edits. What you bring to the shoot is what we celebrate in the photos. That includes laugh lines, freckles, tattoos, hairy legs and all. If you're going for your best Venus-commercial-on-the-beach moment, you know what to do before we meet. 😄

You'll notice I'm pretty friendly, so feel free to reach out about anything specific you'd like to chat about before your session.

Little Amè joined the world after I photographed her Mom Lizanne a day before giving birth.
This was such a full circle moment, being there for her maternity shoot and now being her newborn photographer too.

Slow the shutter down, and the ocean speeds up its grace.
Long exposure turns every wave into blur and light, yet somehow the beauty comes through sharper than ever. This is Jbay at dusk, moving in a way the eye never quite catches on its own.
