Meet the Dolly Brooches 🤩

Each tiny textile character is stitched from reclaimed fabrics, vintage button, beads and pipe cleaners - a little bit of quirky fun, made by hand in East Yorkshire.

No two are the same and they're inspired by my love of Fuzzy Felts & JuJu Spirit dolls.

If you need a pocket-sized friend for your jacket, bag, scarf or studio apron...... these dollies are ready for adventures.

They're available now in the Fabric Mountain webshop.

Please note, not a toy.
Wear one, gift one, start a conversation 😁

I've seen beads being made from tiny little fabric scraps and they look lovely. It seemed a no brainer to me to start using all those little, bitty scraps I have squirreled away in boxes over the years.
These are the beginnings of beads for necklaces and bracelets, hopefully I will remember to put a link when I've got something in the webshop :)

I'm at the inaugural Artisan Trail this weekend at St. Patrick's in Patrington. Demonstrating how to create a repeat pattern tile for fabric design if anyone is interested. Also got my other creations with me for sale, bread bags, woven scarves, mixed media jewellery, lavender wands freshly woven from the garden, some cut & sew kits, pincushions, bookmarks etc.
Loads of other talented artisans demonstrating too, join us if you can. We had the mayor of Withernsea open up for us today and a steady flow of lovely people attending :)

Ooooo nice 😁 look at this folks, a lovely friend on Skye sent me this box of tweed pieces. Not Harris Tweed but tweed by Skye Weavers. It's a very stylish and classic weave combination which I think will work well in some textile necklaces, beads or bangles. 👍

The first, woven, BoHo scarf of the year is done, ta dah!
I'm going to be listing it in the webshop cheaper than I would had it been 100% perfect. As it's been a while, I forgot to weave in the ends as I was going along, this meant a lot of weaving in at the end which has lead to a distinct back and front of the scarf and a few clunky bits I've shown on the last 2 pics where you can see the tails woven in.
That said, it's still a funky, unusual colour scarf and I've learnt from the experience.

HaPpY NeW YeAr everyone 🥂

We're off to a cold snowy start here on the Yorkshire coast.
I'm starting the year off by dusting down my weaving frame. I picked up the weaving bug whilst living on Skye and I really haven't had much chance to get it out since arriving back.
This year I'll try and produce some scarves handwoven in Yorkshire so watch this space.

I've also been uploading some new creations on the webshop today whilst keeping cosy away from the weather.

All the best for 2026 😁
