Yes, I am still hiding from world events by throwing myself into gel and textile printing. Being rather pleased with the reverse painting on this laser transfer of a face sketch, I decided to print a slightly edited version onto interfacing and turn her, along with my original textile prints , into another 'Woodland Folk' portrait. Just need to pop her on a canvas....

Another week gone by with no end to world lunacy, so I have been distracting myself with gel printing faces and combining them with my botanical heat transfer prints. It's the only thing keeping me relatively sane at the moment. My 'Woodland Folk' inhabit a much nicer space ❤️

I missed the 'behind the scenes' prompt for because my studio had a major leak 😱 so here are my 'trial and error' gel prints. I have experimented laser transferring my sketches and photos to create original gel prints.It doesn't worry me if a print 'fails'. Through trial and error I have learned to relax and just draw over them with pen and pencil to add missing detail. Numerous variations can then be created by layering in basic Photoshop Elements. So much fun 😁

It's time again, organised by fabulous 😊
I am Eddie from Eynonymous Designs, and mixed media artist based in beautiful Wales. I create original heat reactive dye and gel prints to make whimsical "Woodland Folk" portraits, sculptures and journals. I do not and will not use generative AI in any way and prefer to painstakingly blend many scanned layers in basic Photoshop Elements for my paper journal designs.

At least this awful weather has kept me inside busy making. I combined photos of my Helga sculpture (usually used to display my embroidered collars) and a found skull, then laser transferred this onto a gel plate before painting on a rather naive face. I am planning to have prints available to purchase from my website soon....

As much as I love making textile sculptures, I thought it was time to try some Woodland Folk wall art. Taking my tiny gelli print as inspiration, I made a little sample and then heat transferred the face onto calico and enhanced it with paint and stitch. I have given myself January to get back into gelli printing, mainly to use as reference material for, perhaps, some Woodland Folk textile wall hangings 🤔Using laser transfer of my own images has been a game changer. I dug out my plate again on New Year's Eve and have been happily messing about ever since. Some experiments were a little hit and miss, so I snipped them into some colourful feathers, popped on to my laptop and turned the pieces into a feathery repeat pattern. What a way to while away these cold days 😊
