We're always proud to see the independent designers based at FC Designer Workspace growing their businesses and creating opportunities for the next generation of fashion talent.

Our tenant Raquel de Carvalho is currently looking for a part-time Studio Intern to join her North London studio from September to December 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience within an independent fashion label known for its directional approach to knitwear, crochet, upcycling and experimental design.

The role will support areas including:

✂️ Collection development
📐 Pattern tracing and adjustments
🧵 Cutting and sewing stretch fabrics
♻️ Upcycling
🧶 Knitted and crochet samples
👗 Fittings and general studio support

For an emerging designer or fashion learner looking to understand what really goes into developing a collection, this is a brilliant opportunity to gain practical studio experience.

🧵 Community-led circular fashion in action.

We were delighted to welcome representatives from Islington Council to see our community repair programme first-hand.

The visit provided an opportunity to see local residents learning practical repair and upcycling skills, sharing ideas and giving existing garments a new lease of life.

With the continued support of Islington Council, these free sessions are making practical circular skills accessible to our local community.
