TUESDAY 4 AUGUST
Missed posting for a couple of days - but Sunday and Monday outfits are never very interesting, especially in this heat.
Tuesday however, was a day out with good friends, so I made an effort!
I wanted to explore a different way to wear texture in the heat, in order to make a more interesting outfit. The above worked to some extent - the blue knit dress is cotton so not too hot & provides great contrast over the cami - but the second layer still left me sweltering somewhat... 🥵🥵

- Bravissimo white camisole (10 years old )
- White cotton palazzo pants (at least 12 years old)
- South blue knit dress ( )
- sparkly brooch is actually a single statement earring - the other one has been lost

SATURDAY 1 AUGUST
Even though it's difficult to wear texture in this hot summer, we can get the same effect by wearing lots of pattern instead. So here is my pattern clash outfit for Saturday.
Really enjoyed wearing this one 😃

- Donna Karan pattern homemade culottes (at least 30 years old & originally made as palazzo pants)

FRIDAY 31 JULY
Teaching today, so needed to look a little smarter - & could also take the opportunity to wear a couple of layers as it's quite a bit cooler today. Hooray!

This is just a brand new look using the sheer patterned top I bought from Vinted last year; yellow trousers as yellow & purple are complementary colours...

THURSDAY 30 JULY
On the way back home from Norwich.
A much cooler day & a much quicker drive - so quick that I had the pleasure of being able to stop in my old hometown of Ipswich. They've built a marina since I lived there, so I stopped at St. Peter's Wharf for a lovely coffee at The Waterfront restaurant.
Such wonderful views 😲 I could have been in the south of France...
Only an hour's break, but worth every moment. We must remind ourselves to stop and smell the roses every so often during our busy days... 😊

WEDNESDAY 29 JULY
33° today 🌞🌡️🔥
And a day spent battling traffic & roadworks in a very hot car 🥵- the air con will only work effectively for an hour or so & the trip to Norwich took FOUR hours 🙄
A great fun afternoon & evening, despite the heat...

- Green spotty shorts that used to be rather too baggy culottes (a cast off from a client) The culottes were deeply unflattering so I just cut them short and hemmed them

TUESDAY 28 JULY
The difficulties of the current weather...
Tuesday morning was cloudy & with quite a breeze blowing. So when I went out to teach, I added a little jacket to my sundress
BUT - the humidity was SO high that the jacket lasted about 5 minutes - and had to be carried for the rest of the day... 😤

MONDAY 27 JULY
Monday is Pilates day, so I never bother too much - and didn't yesterday...
But Monday LAST week was coffee with friends in the morning - and I did bother, but didn't manage to post the photo. Here it is today (instead of me in trackie bottoms!) 😂

Always difficult to find leopard print in Winter colours, it tends to be so warm and golden - but I like to think leopards have a wild streak and occasionally go purple instead!

Posting with my glasses on for once as I like the effect of their severity with the flamboyance of the sheer sequinned top and the polka dot jumpsuit... 😍
An entirely pre-loved outfit 😲🎉
This is the only way to wear a jumpsuit, I think. It originally had straps over the shoulders, so I cut them off & it holds itself up by the shirred elastic over the b***s - but is removed in an instant if you need the bathroom! 😂

FRIDAY 24 JULY
Off to Essex to give a talk on colour today - the fantastic psychological boost it gives you, plus a bit of colour history (SO interesting - did you know that China had never come across pink until Western visitors first arrived?)
So this is the colourful outfit I hide underneath a monochrome dress - and strip halfway through to reveal!
It's extremely hot, but it's always worthwhile, as it brings on Oohs & Ahhs & big smiles from everyone 😃 proof that colour works to cheer everyone up 😀🌈
