Slain Zimbabwean woman wanted divorce before triple murder

Friends of Zimbabwean professional Zandile Tshuma, 42, say she had decided to end her marriage and was preparing to start a new life with her two daughters before she and the children were allegedly murdered at their home in Bedford, England.

According to friends quoted by the Daily Mail, Zandile and her husband, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, 45, had begun divorce proceedings and recently had their ยฃ1.3 million family home valued for sale so they could separate. One friend alleged Zandile had โ€œhad enoughโ€ of the marriage and wanted to move on with daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, five, while another claimed the relationship had broken down because of his alleged controlling behaviour.

Police have named Ndodana Tshuma as the prime suspect in the killings and say he flew to Zimbabwe via Heathrow Airport on Saturday, two days before the bodies were discovered. Bedfordshire Police have appealed for him to surrender, saying they are working with national and international law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest him. Tshuma has not been charged, and the allegations about the marriage have not been tested in court.
