I have opened a virtual shop on the Folksy website, called Pegitty, so named for my best seller, the peg bag. I also sell aprons in various sizes, cushion covers, tote bags for children, crib size fleece blankets, bibs, pillowcases, and PE bags. Most of the items I make are from cotton which I pre-wash to reduce the risk of shrinking. All the motifs are cotton but the fleece blankets are polyester
and some of the pillowcases are polycotton. I usually use poly/cotton for linings. At Christmas I will also be selling Christmas stockings and napkins. I have been sewing since the age of twelve, starting with dressmaking for myself and later for my children, and learnt to smock along the way. My first venture into appliqué was when I made a sash for the Llanhamlach WI, and it has all taken off from there. I am now in the process of retiring from the NHS, having been an occupational therapist for the past sixteen years, although during that time I have continued to sew and sell my goods at local craft fairs. Over the last few years I have been developing my skills in patchwork and quilting and am now looking forward to showcasing my work and having the time to make up the fabrics I have so effortlessly acquired. If you would like a list of items that I make, and/or the different appliqué motifs I have, or if you would like to commission a special order, please contact me via [email protected] or by telephoning 07746120221. I am always happy to discuss new ideas, fabrics and colours.
