Sensory play is such an important part of our babies and toddlers development, here are just some reasons why sensory play is beneficial:

1. Research shows that sensory play builds nerve connections in the brain’s pathways, which lead to the child’s ability to complete more complex learning tasks.
2. Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction.
3. This type of play aids in developing and enhancing memory
4. Sensory play is great for calming an anxious or frustrated child

I first started selling baby sensory bags in the first lockdown as my son really enjoyed playing with each of the items in the bag.
It’s a great way to interact and bond together too.

Each bag contains 7 sensory items which come in a personalised drawstring bag to keep your items together. (We also like hiding different items in the bag and guessing what is in it).

The cost is £17 which includes P&P and personalisation.

What to do with my toddler on a wet and windy day?
Well, we got the sensory bag out and played with the scarf, ball and egg shaker.

Now that my little boy is older he loves playing roll and catch with his ball and hiding objects as well as himself under his scarf!

If you want to help entertain and stimulate your babies and toddlers development then have a look at my baby sensory bags.

Each bag is £17 which includes personalisation and P&P.

I’m busy getting some orders personalised and ready to send out over this weekend.
With Christmas fast approaching don’t wait too long to order your personalised sensory bag!

Each bag costs £17 which includes your personalisation and P&P within the UK

One of the items included in your personalised sensory bag are 2 colourful feathers. Although very simple they are very effective when it comes to sensory play.

Feathers are a lovely way to connect and engage with your baby which can give you hours of fun!

Here are just a few ideas along with their benefits:

Number 1 – Speech and language development. Start by discussing the feather with your little one, how it looks, what colour it is, how it feels? This is a great way to interact and develop speech, language and communication skills with even tiny babies.

Number 2 – Body part recognition. Go from body part to body part moving the feather on different ways and directions. As you touch each body part say the body part name. ‘Oh look I’m tickling your toes!’ ‘Let’s find your tummy!’ And so on. This enhances spatial awareness and fosters body awareness as well as developing those speech and language skills too.

Number 3- Follow their lead. Watch for their cues. Did they like the feather on their back or legs? Where did they react the most and more positively? Head back there and use a little song. Like round and round the garden or Roly Poly. Make up your own songs and rhymes.

Number 4 – Hide your feather. Work on memory and recall skills by hiding and recovering the feather. For small babies move out of their view or pop behind your back. Add in a tickle on their tummy on return or other body parts. For older babies hide them under a small blanket, tub or basket for them to find.

Number 5- Blow your feather. Place the feather in your hand and blow it to your little one. Let them watch it float to the floor. This exercise develops and supports their eye tracking. How their eye muscles develop, move and track objects. Hold it above them and let it float down to them. As they get bigger you can encourage them to blow it back or catch it.

Two photos of my little boy...one when he was only 7 months and a non Walker the other at 19 months and running around!
The flashing bouncy ball has been a big hit with him and it was the ball that helped encourage him to crawl. Now he loves to run after it.

My sensory bags come personalised and have 7 sensory items to aid your child’s development and learning.

What to do on a rainy wet miserable day? Make dens and play hide and seek under the foil blanket!

My little boy used to love lying on this when he was a non mover. He loved the sound and feel of the blanket and reflections from it.
Now he’s a toddler and running around exploring, he loves to hide under his blanket and make dens out of it.

This is one of the 7 items included in my sensory bags which are personalised with the name of your choice.
