Have you ever been told to 'grow old gracefully'? It was on my 32nd birthday when my then MIL said those awful words to me followed closely by my own Mother asking me where I was going to buy my clothes now I was too old for boutiques. Did I listen? yeah right! Now, at 57, I still wear my jeans or leggings with pride, I have the common sense and decency to pair these with a longer top but I still wear them. I have given up on fighting the grey hair and loving the new look. With the help of healthy, low carb eating and not so gentle Yoga, I'm looking forward to seeing what the years ahead will bring

It's a cold and damp day here in West Sussex, time to catch up on paperwork and crochet. Working on a wonderfully warm wrap for days just like today

My Story

At the age of 56, I finally found the courage to walk away from my marriage (actually, I hopped on a plane and flew away), leaving behind my home, my friends and my depression. Starting life as a single women was the most daunting, terrifying thing I had done in quite some time. Suddenly, I was the only one responsible for the bills, fixing things that went wrong but I was also the only one responsible for ME, my happiness and my future. This is my journal of a 50 something, young at heart Mum and Nannie, learning to live life to the full through healthy eating, gentle exercise, meditation and Mother Nature's Larder - with just a little crochet and crafting thrown in providing my fur babies will leave me in peace.
